what the neighbors know

We have brick walls on all sides of our yard.  We can hear our neighbors at times outside as well as their dogs as well as smell the delicious things they are barbecuing.  I'm sure they do the same for us.  Maybe more so these days since we are all social distancing and perhaps because the nice weather is around us people are outside enjoying their backyards more.  In just a few short weeks the weather will turn HOT here and we'll be more inside than out.

So what do the neighbors know?

They know we have a new puppy.  We had a relatively quiet backyard when the only activity was the barbecuing and if the wee one was over for play and he was in the backyard they would hear us playing.

They know the puppy's name is Winslow because we are always calling him or praising him (like when he goes potty outside).

Really, is this comfortable for sleeping?  Apparently it is.

The neighbors also know that Winslow has an incredibly small bladder (getting better as he is getting older) because we are always outside with him it seems and we are always praising him when he goes potty.  He is letting us know he needs to go outside so that is good.

That is pretty much what our neighbors know. What do your neighbors know or what do you know about your neighbors?

Yeah, those small bladders sure make you run outside with them a lot. Good he knows to tell you when he has to go. Our neighbors in back know we got two more, not sure on the others yet.

Winslow sure is cute! Our neighbors know we like to exercise and do yard work . . .lol! I'm friends with the neighbors on one side of our house. The other side, we don't like the husband at all and we've never met the wife! I wouldn't know her if I saw her.

Interesting, and Winslow is one cute puppy!
Our neighbors rent from us. One of the few renters who ever knew who owns the property. They know the feral cat has been renamed Stormy Daniels. They know she is expecting again because she also feeds the feral too. They know we are on the road a lot (or were). They were very close to Shirley and miss her. They know I am crazy about their Beagle Heidi and know I talk with her. They are GREAT waving neighbors.

WE seldom see our neighbors in good times and we have two attached town house neighbors. Nice people, we say hello and occasionally chat which makes them perfect neighbors.

Winslow is cute, he has a good home and will bring much joy to your lives. Corgi's are smart and caring. Mine 10 years ago was named Winnie. She was the unbobbed tail variety. I forget which they were called, I understand it all had to do with the county they were in, one taxed animals with tails. "Pembroke" maybe.

What a cutie! I'm pretty sure our neighbors know everything going on in Tom's life. Almost every afternoon he talks on the phone to his daughter and/or friends while outside on the back deck. Unfortunately, on account of his hearing challenges, his voice is really LOUD. I said, "If I can hear you while in the bathroom, I'm sure everyone down the street can, too."

I rarely see or hear any of my neighbpurs. This is the quietest place I've ever lived in. Rarely doesn't anyone go outside and the definitely don't make any noise. Even before all of this, they were quiet. Before the shut down we saw a lot of construction goin on here, with several new homes. Now the workers have stopped and everything is at standstill. I have big piles of dirt in my yard that they dug up and am hoping they'll soon be back on the job. It's a mess.

Among other things, our neighbors on one side know that we like oranges, and, because they are wonderful neighbors, they are always offering us some from their tree when it is in season. We have a lemon tree out in front of our house, and our neighbors on both sides as well as up and down the block know that they can always have a few if they want some.

BTW: Winslow is a real cutie. I love dogs. My husband and I both do.

Oh I love his name and he has grown!I bet the neighbours have taken peeks of your new furbaby. As for our neighbours....some I make sure not to talk to as they have called me lazy and threatened to call the city if they see my hubby do something to the home they think we don't have a permit for. Another neighbour grabbed my hubby's throat and we called the cops. Others are just gossipers. On the nicer side, nice neighbours know we have cats and a dog, Wallace. They know my hubby has rheumatoid arthritis but that I have Ehlers-Danlos and can't do much.

He is growing up and good to let you know when he has to go out! Adorable and that didn't look to comfortable to sleep like that.
Well our neighbors know we have a dog and that he is not that friendly - but he is to us!

Potty training takes a lot of time. I'm glad it's going well.

Winslow is so cute.

It's none of my business what my neighbors may think they know about us. LOL - We all pretty much keep to ourselves. Perhaps they hear my husband talking to himself. They hear us playing with our dog and they probably hear our waterfall and pond running during the day.

Nice post. Better you than me, potty training a puppy. But it does sound like Winslow is getting it! Congratulations.

I think we'd be surprised by what our neighbors know and do not know. I know my upstairs neighbor likes to shower at 5 AM (and tap his razor--so annoying).

The dog is adorable. I can't stand the neighbors on either side of me. They shouldn't be homeowners since they don't take care of the property. They do not like me either because I complain to the city. Tough, I say.

From my trailer I could almost touch my neighbor's. Amazingly, my street is quiet as a tomb. No children. Occasionally a dog on a walk barks.

I know my neighbours upstairs has two super hyperactive boys who never seem to sleep from the sounds of jumping, banging, bouncing, knocking we hear all day. It's annoying the hell out of me now that they are staying at home instead of being in school during this lockdown period.

Winslow is so cute!

I live in a rural area, so the neighbors aren't that close, but for the last couple of weeks, my grandpuppy has been staying with me to keep me company during the pandemic. I feel like I yell "APPA" about a million times a day. There is no way that everyone in the neighborhood doesn't know the name of this puppy!

We're pretty close to one set of neighbors (the ones who come for Thanksgiving and that I spent Easter with), so we typically know a lot about each other anyway, though these days our communication is mostly via text. They have a privacy fence and ours is chain link, but we always know whenever each other's dogs are out because they bark. We also know whenever the other cuts grass, weed eats, etc.

We have some new neighbors across the street that we didn't get to meet due to social distancing. I suspect they know we have pets, that one of us is still working a normal schedule, that one of us isn't leaving for work, that we're following the social distancing rules, and that we do a lot of online shopping. What I think I know about them is that they're quiet, don't have pets, it looks like one of them is still going to work, but one isn't, and that they appear to be following the social distancing rules.

Even though we live in the country on 6 acres we do have neighbors. On one side we have neighbors with chickens and a dog. Both visit on occasion. The other side has alpaca and bunnies and cats and a dog. Except for the alpaca they all visit too. We have no secrets!

I live in an apartment. Pets are not liked here.
My neighbors are a young couple ( she's a pianist, all day on the piano) and an orthodox family with kids.
I prefer the younger couple, as the family generates a lot of 'non musical' noise, and the kids leave dirt in the public space of the apartment.

… my neighbor's know that I like to maintain my physical conditioning as they see me running on a regular basis... to say nothing of my incessant biking..!

One neighbor is rebuilding a shed. Another is cleaning out his gutters (wow - he must be bored!!). Another is catching up on weeding. And one is quite old - a recent widower. I do worry about him. Our neighbors know we are painting some old furniture that will be donated to VetsHouse, a home for homeless female veterans, as soon as this crisis is over.

What a big boy, Winslow! Smart boy.

Our neighbors know that the grandboys are home all day. It's been rainy and they have been doing "boot camp" inside as part of home schooling. Jumping jacks, jogging in place, etc. Fortunately the parents get them out in the fresh air daily to burn off some energy!

I am not seeing my neighbors out at all. I guess I am the only one with a dog so I have to go out. It is crazy.

What a cutie! I see a lot of people out walking their dogs. My neighbors probably don't know much about me- as our houses are fairly far away- but I would guess they know I love plants and nature. Lots of bird feeders in my yard. :)

Lovely puppy, learning fast. I have a cat but did have retriever dogs which I still miss like crazy.

Interesting question ... a month ago, the neighbors would know I'm gone a lot.

Now, they'd know my job is considered essential (we give out food at the church) but that I come home early every day. They'd know that we stay put every weekend, all weekend long!

Winslow is a cutie!

That's an interesting thought to ponder ... I'm really curious now what the neighbors know about us.

Winslow is growing cuter by the day!! I can only imagine what our neighbors think of our antics. Halloween lights, even more Christmas lights, plus all the traffic that it brings. Kids yelling and fighting with each other all the time. Clarinet playing, piano banging, one kid singing musicals all day long, and 3 cats running about out all the time... lol

There you go, pictures of Winslow. I read the other post first!! He's adorable. Glad he is being a good boy and going outside.

That's a great question. Our neighbours on our left know that we have adult children that hang out in our driveway a lot lately. They know we are quiet. We chat with them over the wall now and then, but they do keep to themselves and seem to prefer it that way. I can't complain :)

Winslow is adorable!
