forgive me

I couldn't resist, we got some snow Sunday night into Monday morning.  It actually started out with rain and thunder and lightening Sunday night; that was weird. Then moved to snow sometime in the middle of the night, so everything was icy the next morning and snow day for the kids.

But I couldn't resist.  Quail in snow........

Last time we spoke, I mentioned we put an offer on a house. We actually got what we wanted (minus the fridge, but the realtor says always to ask for the fridge, so we did) and then we turned down the deal.   Mainly because the house didn't have a carport or a garage. They had converted the garage into a family room; a nice one, but there was no covering for cars and with the extreme heat in Phoenix, plus the hailstorms they get, we feel a carport or garage is necessary and would want to add at a minimum a carpot and when we added up costs, we decided to pass on it.

Then we found the perfect house late last week.  Great location, price, etc. Went to the open house on Saturday morning, us and half of Phoenix I think (I exaggerate just a little, but believe you me, there was a lot of activity at that house). Bottom line, we made a really good offer, more than the asking price, etc. There were multiple offers on the house. We didn't get it. It went to someone who offered cash and a short closing time. The seller was an elderly man who wanted to move closer to his children. Closing would be in a week instead of the 4 weeks we would need to fund a loan.

House hunting again this weekend.

Signed up for A/Z this year. Due to a wonderful case of insomnia, I found myself awake at 4 a.m. the morning of signups.  When I finally realized sleep was not going to come that night, I got up and went on the computer. Saw the signups so I signed up; #41 on the list; my best starting number so far. If interested, sign up here.

We are on baby watch.  Due date is 02/16; our daughter in law just turned 38 weeks yesterday.  Could come at any time! Anything after 37 weeks is considered full time, so when God is ready, so is my daughter in law!

And finally, remember that Sesame Street game when they would have 3 items that belonged together and 1 that didn't and the kids would have to guess what didn't belong there? There was even a cute song that went along with it.

Well, definitely one of these things certainly doesn't belong in the picture below.  But they all get along fine (the quail scatter the small birds and doves away, but leave the bunny perfectly alone).

Until next time :)

Thankfully you are in a good place to stay while waiting to find just the right house for you. The critters there have helped to keep you entertained. They are worth any amount you might spend on feeding them for sure. It's getting really close to that due date. I can only imagine the excitement. Your first grandchild is life changing. I know from experience.

Wow, I didn't realize your daughter-in-law was that close to delivering. I am so excited for you. You have no idea how much love you are going to feel for your little grandbaby! I sure had no concept how much I was going to love being a MiMi.

Hope the house-hunting goes well for you! I personally love looking at houses but I can understand when your offers don't get accepted, it can be disheartening. I just know God has someplace special for you.

Very cute post, Betty! I look forward to A-Z and hope your good sleep returns. I admire your persistence to find the right house. What's that saying? "It always comes to those who wait."

I am so excited for you, sweet lady! Can't wait to see the pics of the baby. Looking forward to your A-Z posts.

I'm sorry you didn't get your house, but I'm glad you didn't go for the one without a garage. I did that once and it really does wear out the cars.

re: baby watch
If you're MIA from the blog scene I'll know why. :)

Cute bunny! I'll take snow over ice any day, we just had 10 inches. Nice to not feel rushed in house hunt, but still see the ups and downs of the process. Exciting new sweetheart very soon, hope all goes well.

The exactly right home is out there waiting for you! Good luck with your search. I am still considering the A-Z. If I can think of a theme, I might be more inclined to do it.
I love the pic bunny quail pic.
I'm excited for you Grandma Betty :)

That bunny photo is so cute!!

I hope you find what you are looking for - finding a home can be an exercise in patience!

I do remember that song I used to watch Sesame Street all the time with my kids. Looks like you have some sharing going on and they look like they are okay with it.
Gosh you are going to be a grandma soon! My daughters birthday is the 15th!
I know you can't wait! Congrats.

Well, that's too bad about the houses, but I'm sure an even better one will come along. It's hard to be patient. It took us 9 months to find this house, but it is indeed perfect.

A new baby is always exciting and I can't wait to hear all the details. Have a super weekend! And I love the bunny!

Sorry about losing the house, but I'm sure you'll get the next one.

When you don't get one house, another better one always seems to come along. The wait is frustrating.

Never apologize for more quail pictures.

The one with the rabbit is great.

I guess if I were a quail I wouldn't mind snow in Arizona as much. Good luck with the rest of the house hunting. It can't be much longer. Kinda bike babies--in its good time.

I do like the pictures. I am one of the ignorant folk who went to AZ once in the winter, and was shocked when we woke up to SNOW at Fort Huachuca. Now I know that AZ can be hot and also cold. I am hard to educate! LOL

Sherry and I can never get over the thousands of folks who build in their garages for a room. To each his own, I have seen many very good conversions, but I prefer to pull into a garage or carport out of the sun and rain. But we usually do not need the extra bed room, and no more babies on the way! LOL

I Like the entry.
PS: I am not used to that practice of 'offering more than the asking price'. That is common in Florida also. BUT most places we have lived one will NEVER get the asking price of a car nor a house, your offers coming in will be less than you are asking.

PS: I enjoyed your comment on pets at the Shipslog. Oh yes, and we thought of you (and Koda) yesterday, we saw the cutest Corgi here in the park! ;-)

You will find the perfect house!! Baby-watch is so exciting. Are you about to burst?? I have always thought it was interesting how the bunnies and the birds can eat together. In my backyard it is often the turkeys and the squirrels. They just seem to ignore each other. I, oh so wish, I had quails in my yard!!

♪♫ One of these things is not like the others... ♫♪ Yes, I remember that Sesame Street game/song so well. I was a Sesame Street junkie when I was a young child. Now the tune is stuck in my head.

How exciting about the baby's birth coming along any day. Can't wait to hear about when it happens!

And lack of a garage in a home is a deal breaker for us. We only go to open houses or to view homes with a garage. In addition to having a place for our car when needed, we also store bikes, the lawn mower and a few other items in it. Can't do without it!

The quail are so cute. Your going to miss them. You will be so much happier with a garage so I think you made the right choice on backing away from that house. I do remember that on Sesame Street and that picture is too cute! Good luck this weekend and anxious to hear about the arrival of the baby.

Hang in there, the perfect house is out there and when you find it, all will fall into place! I think you have more snow that we've had all Winter here in Ohio! It did snow a tiny bit this afternoon but so far it's been great around here. Love the quail pic...it's nice to know they can share!

Mevely317 said...

Dang, I hate it when that happens on HGTV ... even worse, when it's someone for whom you're rooting. Someday, this hunt will all make sense.
... and yes, having a garage or a sturdy carport during the summer and monsoon makes perfect sense!

I can't wait to learn when your sweet, squishy baby makes his debut!

The baby watch sounds exciting!

Sorry to hear about the house search. The bidding on the last house sounds intense. The right house will come along. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Loved the pictures. So glad you get to enjoy the quail for a while longer. :)

Another precious picture! House hunting is such a challenge (although reading about you doing it makes me itch to be on the hunt). I'm glad you guys are holding out for what you want. Babywatch must be exciting! I can't wait to see pictures of the grandbaby!

I'll always forgive you for more quail photos! And I loved the photo with the bunny - one of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong. Sesame Street - great memory!

Prayers for the last days of your DIL's pregnancy.

And best of luck with the house-hunting. We both know that the perfect house is out there waiting for you. Patience as God works just the right timing!

GOD BLESS!

I'm sure the right house will come along for you. In Scotland we say, "what's for you won't go by you". Congrats on the imminent delivery, or maybe the baby has arrived by the time I'm writing this?

Those quail may realize the bunny could eat them for dinner! How precious a picture that is. So today is the due date! Of course, I think she should wait until Sunday, which is my birthday. I don't see what a few more days could hurt?! haha I haven't been pregnant for nine months, either. hah

Be patient about the house...the right one is there, and it is worth waiting for!!

Beautifully adorable captures I love it, I hope one day it'll snow like that here once again but, every year it snows less and less.
