I thought......

......that I would have an update for you guys by now, but I don't.  It is coming together slower than I thought it would, but I'm trusting God's timing.  Hang in there....hopefully it will be soon, but I know for sure not for at least 2 weeks.

So what else is new?? Not much really.  Cooler weather, fall leaves changing.

Thanksgiving this week and the neighbor across the street put his Christmas lights up 2 weeks ago.  Then the neighbor next to him put some lights up this weekend.  Made me think (for half a second and a quick look in the store) if we wanted to put up lights.  I subsequently changed my mind and said "nope, not happening."

Hard to believe but our lease expires December 14th.  Can it be a year since it all transpired to move here?? (We actually moved December 31st but had to rent it as of December 15th as they wouldn't hold it any longer than 5 days; not that I think there was a demand for it to be rented, but we played along with their "rules").

Our plan was to definitely move by the end of the lease and not renew it, but then the plans we made like I said above are taking slower to come together.  So with trepidation, when asked if we wanted to renew our lease for a year, we said "can we go month to month??" Prescott property management companies have terrible reputations.  They'll find anything and everything to withhold people's deposits, so we really didn't think they would be willing to work with us.

Imagine our surprise when the property manager said they would check with the owner and imagine our double surprise when the owner was willing to go month to month with just the slightest (really very small) monthly increase.

We hope to be moved by February, but I'm glad we can stay put here until we are ready.

The plan is good.  It will work.  We'll just have to be patient.

It will come together.

Meanwhile we wait.

And we are thankful.  Thankful for so much.  A year ago at the beginning of November if you told me a year later I would be living in Arizona, would be a mother in law, would soon be a grandmother, I would have laughed and said "quit joking."  But that's how God works.  Catches us sometimes when we least expect it.

And that will be how it will be when the plan all comes together.

When we least expect it.

And it will be good.

Because God never disappoints and never will.

In the meantime

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

May be it be a good one for you and yours :)

I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving too ! You are right, God has it all in control. I really believe good things come to those that wait. I got some inexpensive candle lights for the windows here. Maybe you could put some in your windows too. Battery operated and they are timed to come on same time each night. Anyway they do bring some cheer to these long cold nights.

I've been thinking of you!

How I admire your sense of calm, and giving it over to Him. I've always been one to try and force an outcome ... and, of course, regretted it.

I know what you mean about outdoor lights. The last few years ours has been the only(?) home in the neighborhood sans outdoor decorations. Plus, our den/common area sits at the back of the house, so we've no tree or candles to 'exhibit.' I wonder if some think we're heathens?! lol.

Month to month is so much better then you aren't stuck. Better to wait and have everything right than to rush indeed. The only lights I'd put up is if I lived near one who did a lot, then I'd just make them spell out "ditto" and point to their house lol or have santa on the roof peeing with a stream of lights come from him. Would you expect any less? lol

Your writing is always a joy to read. I certainly understand an owner who has super 'folks on lease' wants to keep them even if they must give a little.
Love your 'you are joking' LIST, I smile, life can do that to you!
Love your thankful list also. Thanksgiving is a great time.

How lucky that the manager let you lease month by month. I know how stressful that must've been not knowing what to do next.

I hope everything moves ahead according to plan.

That is wonderful about the month to month lease! What a relief it must be. I admire your patience. I'm usually like that but sometimes I want things to happen quickly. I have to remind myself sometimes that things fall into place when the time is right.

They know they've got responsible renters or demand down or both. Glad you aren't doing a double move. Hope everything else goes smoothly now that timing has been dealt with. Oh, the difference a year can make!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

Sorry your plans are taking longer than expected but glad that you can go month to month for now. Can't believe it has been a year. Same with Adam and Tristen, they left right after Christmas last year. Seems like yesterday. So many changes in your life this year and they are all beautiful. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Take care and God bless. Debby

That's the right mindset. Often we just have to wait while allowing peace and joy to bridge the gap until we get the answer.

Yes, sometimes life can change so rapidly! And in the looking back, we can see the sure hand of God directing every step. I love that your property manager was willing to work with you guys, and I just know that God will work out the living situation just perfectly, in His perfect way and timing!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! May it be filled with faith, family, friends, fellowship...OK, and lots and lots of food!

GOD BLESS!

Sometimes all the planning in the world won't make things happen that aren't ready to happen. Right? You have had a lot of changes in the past year. And some of them will bring more amazing changes into your life. Being a Grandma is one of those!! I guarantee it! I am glad you get to do the month to month lease. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry the move isn't going as quickly as you'd like, but it sounds like you're good where you are for a little while longer. Good luck. I'm sure when everything else materializes, it will be wonderful.

Well I am glad you got a monthly extension. That has to help a lot. I think it is God's timing. Isn't it funny that he gives us 'just enough'.

It's always important to wait on God's timing. I've always believed that if He hasn't given you clear leading on what to do, just keep doing what you are doing.

It is sometimes awe-inspiring to see where God has brought us from a year ago!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Praise the Lord! God is in control even when some people (the property owners) don't realize they are allowing God to work through them!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving...so very much to be thankful for in the past year. A new daughter, a baby on the way, selling property, and living in Arizona. It has been quite a year for you.

God Bless,

P.S. I am not putting out anything for Christmas until next weekend. I did have to dismantle my fall yard arrangement due to extremely cold weather. I didn't want the pumpkins to turn to mush.

Yes! God works in amazing and mysterious ways. I have had some unexpected things happen in my life lately, and I agree that we must wait patiently on God's timing and He will work out the details. Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving, and that your plans work out well.
Many stores here in New Zealand have also begun putting up Christmas decorations.

Waiting for the big 'reveal' ;) Glad you were able to pay month to month at this time. As for lights.. we don't put ours up till early December. December is my month of Christmas decorating. I don't like to start earlier because by the end of December I am so DONE with it! Love Christmas, but all the 'trappings' get to me sometime. I think I'll feel more festive once December hits. We have enough snow right now, though!

Here's hoping you get a nice new place! Happy Thanksgiving. We don't have anything in November, but still I don't like decorations going up before Dec 1!
