humor me

Honestly, I was not going to write any more about birds........

and then the quail came back (adolescent, they've grown a bit since the last time I saw them).

and then today, look closely, see the one that is a whiter color? There were about 12 quail here, 10 adolescent and 2 parents.

different angle with the lighter color one

popping its head up

Its definitely a different color than the other quail.  First time I saw one this color.

So I had to post the pictures. The quail seem to come late afternoon, between 5:30 and 6 o'clock, sometimes a bit later. I do so much enjoy watching them.

So sorry, indulge me, humor me. I somewhat promise these could be the last of the bird pictures.  Equate them to all the pictures I might have posted about a certain corgi when a certain corgi lived with us.

Other news -

we bought a new car this past Saturday.  A Nissan Verse Note.  We had rented one for a weekend a bit ago. Was surprised with the room in it.  Got a good deal, couldn't really turn it down (well we could, but we didn't). Reasonable payments and now we have a more reliable car to travel around the state.

Other news -

got a couple offers on the house.  Hubby leaning strongly towards the latest one.  It seems like a fair reasonable one.  We'll see how it turns out.

Other news -

now lots on our plates with thinking about the next step.  Can't say much about it now, but stay tune.........

you just never know where we may land.

I like the photos of the quails - keep on showing them! Good luck with the house sale, hope it goes swiftly and smoothly for you both.

Congrats on the car and the house. And, thanks for posting the lighter colored quail.

YAY to a new car and offers on your house! I finally made it through the move...only to have my credit card stolen and my husband get a kidney stone that our insurance doesn't see as an "emergency" and doesn't want to pay the emergency room visit on. (Sigh!) I've decided if I could just go through a month without having to call any customer service line anywhere, I will be as happy as happy can be!

I never tire of the "partridge family" photos! I wonder why the one is a different color - could they all be males except that one?

Fingers crossed with house sale!

Great news on the house! Enjoy your new transportation!

The quail are neat. We have a gaggle of geese hanging around our community. Not so nice. They do leave their trail. They hang out near the retention pond by the clubhouse, which is where I walk. They are quite bold and don't even move out of the way when I pass through.

Nice to see the return of the quails. It does make you wonder where they went to and why. Things we'll never know. How nice to have a new car too ! I've an older model so I can appreciate how good it would feel to have a new one. I don't travel far at all in mine, but it's still good for around town here. Great news that the house may be sold. It will be wonderful to be able to move ahead.

Congrats indeed, and wonderful photos!

The hawk/falcon must have moved on. Unique dove in the family, wonder how often that coloring happens. Hope the good news keeps on coming. One of our relatives is also looking into a vehicle he had rented for a trip. Best wishes with the house and next steps.

Maybe that different color one is the oddball, or ring leader. New car is always great, reliable is a must. Hopefully the house sells too.

Congratulations on the new car and the offers on the house! We are planning to put our home up for sale by the end of next month and I hope we get an offer or two very quickly. Fingers crossed. And never apologize for bird photos. I really enjoy them!

Such pretty little birds. It is odd to have one that is off in color. Is there a way it could by halfway albino? ;) jk

Sounds like some exciting stuff happening at your house! :)

I love quail, they are interesting birds. I remember them from a kid, don't see many now.
Offer(s) sound good. Much better than NO offers..

Okay, I will be wondering of course, with the rest of your readers.

Love from Arkansas (good luck with the new car, I have heard good stuff about them)

I don't see quail around here -- I thought they were something you'd see only in a field somewhere. So it's amazing to me that you have them at your house. Keep the pictures coming! And congrats on getting multiple offers on your house. Now that's a good dilemma!

I like photos of birds...different kind, different shots. I have no time bird watching myself so I enjoy watching them through bloggers share.

What charming pictures of the quail! I wish we had some in our backyard. My husband and I have become birdwatchers in the evening, sitting on our patio. We have dove, jays, sparrows, tits, sometimes robins and finches, and once every so often, a neighborhood hawk who has decided he likes Midtown. No quail though--and they are such cute creatures. The albino one is really unique.

On another note, thanks for commenting on my interview on Chrys Fey's blog.

Congrats on the car by the way. Also... QUAIL! I used to see these buggers are the time when I lived out in the high desert of California. These things would be all over the place. I even had a girlfriend who found a nest and raised a few of her own.

Betty,

I love to see the bird photos. I've never seen a quail that lighter color. Most of the ones here are teens now too, although I did see a set of parents with one small one yesterday at my neighbors. They get into the kale in her garden. I'm sitting with her cat for a week.

Congrats on the new car and good luck on your house!

Love seeing the quail and the odd coloured one is unique. Good luck with the sale and it sounds like you might have a big move on your hands...bigger than just staying in one state. Maybe you will be getting another doggie once you move...:)

Our God is so Great! The quail are His creation. It is amazing watching how birds and animals act and appear. I love watching the geese, ducks, swans, deer, and bear that are in the pond and field across from the road from our house.

Sounds like a great new adventure coming your way.

Keep the quail pictures coming..I enjoy learning about them.

Try to stay cool!

Oh this is such an exciting time for you guys! Such change - different vehicles, living in a different state, possible house hunting, but the biggest change is grandparenting. You will be amazed at how it will change your world. And now ... a different hobby - birdwatching!

I'm praying that all your changes will bring you joy!

Congrats on the new car. I know selling a house can be super stressful. Exciting, yet the unknown can be a little scary. But the unknown = endless possibilities!

I love all the bird photos- so I say keep them coming. Great to get an update on the quails. Interesting to see such a light shade compared to the others.

Awesome news about the offers. Good luck with everything. Good idea to rent the kind of car you want to buy for a trial. :)

I have a new Nissan, too, an Altima. First brand-spanking new car I've ever owned (well, Nissan Finance owns it right now...) I hope you will enjoy yours!

So, the crypic "can't say much but stay tuned..." was that the "oh boy" news? Or do I still need to hold my breath?

Post as many Quail photos as you want. You never know who may be touched by the story or the pics.
