gave me goosebumps

I kid you not
this is a true story
happened this morning

see the quail? These are mostly young adolescent ones with their parents

I had finished my Bible reading and prayer time this morning and looked outside.  I saw two quail, a male and female, eating seed on our patio.  You know how I like quail.  I said out loud to God "it would have been nice to have seen some baby quail this year, but I think I'm too late, that's okay."

I got up and started to clean the kitchen.

(Another better picture of them).

Halfway through my cleaning I looked outside and saw the quail were still there, but on the rocks this time and I saw a lot of little quail with them.  They were going away from my area at a pretty fast pace, though I noticed the dad quail kept coming back, as in looking for one of his children.  I just watched because I knew I wouldn't have time to get the camera.

I kid you not what happened next.

The quail turned around and all started coming back up towards our yard.  By then I thought I might have a chance to get a few pictures so I grabbed the camera and went by the window.

All these little ones were walking towards our patio.

Honestly, I'm surprised I got the pictures looking as "good" as they did because I was shaking with excitement.  They stuck around for just a bit and then mom and dad led them away.

I watched them leave and then I almost had to get down on my hands and knees.  I got goosebumps and I said "thank you Jesus."

He sent the young quail for me to see.  I truly believe it.

What a wonderful gift you gave me this morning Lord. Thank you.

What a wonderful sight. You did well with the photos! I didn't realise they had so many young.

That is truly amazing! I haven't seen quail in ages. I used to see them cross the street near my childhood home all the time. I miss them!

Ask and ye shall receive.

These are the first wild quail I'd ever seen. They're popular home-raised birds on many farms here.

Those are precious baby quail :) It's so great when God answers even the simplest of prayers to brighten our days!

Wow! There's so many of them!! We get quail up here, too, but I've never seen more than just a few! You had a whole covey of them (did you like how I used the correct term - *covey*???) :-)

I love when God sends me a *nature reminder* of His presence. Do I think He does it just for me? Yup, I actually do!!

GOD BLESS!

How wonderful. Quail are birds from my childhood; I don't see them here anymore.

They all look happy as can be too, as they came to see you

Such a nice thrill! Isn't it nice when you can experience some religious "awe"?

The quail remind me of the partridges that were on the opening of the TV show, "The Partridge Family." :)

I had the same thought as Maria - "Ask and you shall receive."

It's just a little gift from a loving Father!

Oh I love this story. And I love that you notice all the signs God sends us to remind us of His love for us. Just amazing.
My mom was sitting in her backyard one morning and she was feeling kind of down. She told God that she could use a little pick-me-up. No sooner had she thought the words than her yard was FILLED with birds. Cardinals, goldfinches, sparrows, chickadees. TONS of colorful birds everywhere. She had never seen so many birds at one time before in her life. It made her want to cry she was so happy. Just awesome. :)

What a sweet gift to be given!

Another true story: My Great Scot used to work at Kelburn Castle, in Scotland. They raised pheasants there, for the wealthy visitors to shoot; a practice which my sweetheart decried. Riding through the forest, on his way to work (he always took his mountain bike) he worried about how he could prevent it from happening to the latest batch of pheasant chicks which had been released on the property...
He stopped to take a short break by a small burn - it being a 10 mile ride to work - then hopped on his bike to finish his trek to the gardener's cottage. His workmates stopped and stared, pointed and whistled, as he rode up so he turned to look behind:

Over a hundred pheasant chicks were trailing behind him, running as fast as they could to keep up! They wouldn't leave the area around the gardener's cottage, and would cuddle with David and his workmates whenever they were on break or at lunch... they'd even eat from the men's hands. When hunting season rolled around, the entire crew threatened to walk off the job if 'their' birds were used for hunting.

There were some very disappointed hunters that year!

Awe I really liked that - God is good. Say you were right about not putting prices on the items - we made about $450! Thanks. Glad you got to see the babies.

These are great shots and they are so cute. there is a reason for sure. Since I believe animals send messages and I love the totem animals (Native American teachings), I had to look up quail. It means group nourishment and protection.

Great pictures. I'm afraid my thoughts went to various recipes I have for those little birds.

Don't see quail in these parts much, or even hear their Bob White call. Very cool and probably a sign.

What sweet birds and blending in with the pebbles. I've see quail eggs for sale in the supermarket but never seen what a real quail looks like.

Whether quail families there or bunnies here or feral cats at my mom's, they are all quite entertaining! Enjoying the little moments of summer.

It's been quite the season, parents of our generation being hospitalized, transitional care, and a few funerals. Really looking forward to nephew's garden wedding next month!

Fun photos! Take care.

So cute and you got good pictures. Sometimes there's no time for grabbing the camera. Those are some big families. I think the quail are later this year having their babies, at least that's the way it seems here.
