Middle of May Friday Letters

Hooking up with Paula this week for Friday Letters:

Dear Mandatory Overtime:  Enough already!!

Dear American Idol:  You're cheesy, but I'm going to miss you after next season.

Dear Son and Delightful Girlfriend:  So enjoyed the visit last Saturday.  Lunch was fun and loved meeting your new puppy.  Just saying, if he happens to disappear after the next time we come and visit, don't worry, I'm sure he is safe.

Dear Blackjack:  You aren't a corgi, but you are a cute Jack Russell Terrier mix.  I forgot how active puppies can be.  I might offer you an adventure the next time we see you.  Don't worry, you'll be in a loving home without a cat.  You'll do fine.

Dear Weather: Really, another weekend that is cold and rainy?  Three in a row, but who's counting?

Dear Upcoming Trip:  Looking forward to you in more ways than one.  Will have some interesting things to share with my faithful blog readers.

Dear Weekend:  Don't go too fast, okay?

I have never seen American Idol, but I like The Voice...only have seen it a few times, though.

I've never seen American Idol and I don't watch the UK version either. Blackjack sounds cute ... any photos?

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I quit watching AI when Simon left. Not necessarily because he left, but it certainly wasn't the same.

Gonna steal Blackjack, eh? lolz Post some pics of him!

I'm sad American Idol is going off. Every year my girls and I watch it together - kind of a bonding experience. I'm glad we got one more year, though.

Your letter post was cute - I enjoyed it.

I would write the same thing to the weather ....

I haven't watched American Idol since Adam Lambert was on it.

I am interested in hearing about your trip. Have fun! :)

It sounds like you may be getting closer to thinking about getting another dog....I hope so.

Finally American Idol will end, whoops, did I type that? lol

New pups sure have lots of energy indeed

If the puppy disappears, how can you be so sure that it he will be safe?

Oh wait...never mind.

Hello Betty! So happy to have you join me this week. I am glad you are enjoying your son and his gf's puppy. Maybe you will start thinking about getting another, huh? I hope your trip is marvelous and I can't wait to hear all about it. Go away mandatory overtime!!!!

Now you've got my curiosity... upcoming trip? Can't wait to hear about that. I'll tell you about mine, too...next month!

Have a great weekend. Raining here in the Verde Valley too. Seven inches of snow in Flag!!!!!

I LOVED your letters. That little puppy sounds sweet, indeed. Obviously holds a big place in your heart. Getting away is always nice. Have fun. I weaned myself off AI when Simon left so I won't miss it now. As for mandatory overtime and Mother Nature... you are fighting a losing battle. Seriously, you are. Have a nice weekend.

This is new to me and I love your "letters." How delightful to have a visit from your son, girlfriend and precious pup. I watch both Idol and The Voice. We are expecting rain this weekend but at least it is not cold. I know you are anxious for your vacation. Look forward to learning more!

Dear Betty - keep up the enjoyable writing!

And one from me?

Dear Snow - I love seeing you today. Thanks for the Spring Wonderland!!

GOD BLESS!

I have been a faithful American Idol viewer. I agree it has run its course, though.
The new puppy is like having grandchildren, you know?
You can enjoy them for a few hours, then give them back :)
Have a long weekend and a great trip Betty, okay?

I'm no TV watcher, so they won't miss me from the audience.
Puppies are such a handful. I cannot imagine getting one again.

Oh, I want to hear more about Blackjack! Well, that and your well-deserved trip!

I hadn't watched but a couple episodes of AI this year, but the finale is like appointment television. I know what you mean about it being cheesy, but it provided lots of great memories, didn't it!

Dear Time: Where did you go? You should get another pup. They fill in the blankness. Wish we had one but not a good idea in an apartment plus walking would be almost impossible these days. A friend got a puppy a few months ago and said she had forgotten how hard it was to bring one up.

We have rain, too. Finally. (Although, some people seem to think they're going to melt. It's as if they've forgotten what rain is.)

I enjoyed watching the first few seasons of American Idol but lost interest after that.

We had only one season of Malaysian Idol before the show was axed

I love the letters idea. Cute way to catch up at what is going on at your house. I'm glad your son and his girlfriend and new pup got to visit with you. It's wonderful you have a trip to look forward to. You need a get away after having to work all those hours.

Happy belated Mother's Day, glad it was a great one! Including fun with puppy. I've never liked the word mandatory, prefer voluntary. I'll be cat-sitting for a long weekend.Have a fun trip!

My sister got me hooked on The Voice and I love it. I am in awe of how many people can sing so well! I'm looking after my sister's chihuahua this week... it's been fun so far! I've always had some sort of pet until last September and now I am feeling the desire once again.. we shall see. Enjoy your holiday and I am looking foward to hearing about it!

I didn't know American Idol was ending, but I haven't watched it the last couple of years. Blackjack sounds like a cutie :) I hope you have a good trip!

Birgit said...

I feel like I missed something but did you get a puppy? Blackjack does sound cute. I hope you have a great trip and I don't want this weekend to go by fast at all

Jeff Bushman said...

You may need to write to the weekend again. It went too fast. I have to spend my Sunday driving north for 2.5 hours to a birthday party. Stay 3 hours and drive home again.

Stephanie Faris said...

Wait--you got a puppy!!! You must post pictures. My first dog was a fox terrier and he was such a great dog. Terriers are energetic but fun, always entertaining. My parents got a Corgi when theirs died and I think the problem is, they're spending far too much time comparing him to their previous dog. I think they should have gone with a different breed altogether.

I never got into the talent shows on tv. once in a while I would watch the audition round to see who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but that's about it.

Hi,
I love that picture with the bench and the view looking towards the mountains. It reminds me a little of a city in Italy, Limone.

I'm taking it that you are enjoying some down time, so have fun.

I watched American Idol the first few seasons, but really mostly liked the audition shows. Just because there were so many awful singers!

Love these letters! Sounds like you may have a new puppy at some point in the future. ;)

I feel the same way about American Idol! I will be watching the last season and I do enjoy hearing the singing.
