Shadow Shots

A/Z - a silly about me

S - Shadow Shots

For some strange reason, I like taking pictures of us when we are hiking as a shadow shot.

I always seem to be on the left side of hubby.

He's really distorted in this; not sure how I managed that effect.

Are you afraid of your shadow?

That is so cool. I will have to show them to Harley. She just got a new camera and is driving me crazy with needing ideas of what to take pictures of!

Interesting hobby, Betty! No, not afraid of my shadow... but I fear doughnuts.

I like these :) Jeff and I did this in a photo recently and I love the mysteriousness of not knowing what we're wearing, are we smiling, etc :) x

Love the ME & MY SHADOW pics. Very cool.

I love taking shadow shots, but strangely, very rarely take my own shadow unless I need it for a scavenger hunt or similar.

And in answer to your question ... no, I'm not scared of my own shadow!

I always wonder if the shadow shows your true self and not how we see ourselves. It's a bit like those fun mirrors in a fairground!

I remember trying to jump into my shadow as a child :) That was always a fun game - even if the darned thing did keep moving! LOL

What a fun idea. Reminds me of Peter Pan.

Great shadow shots. I always walk to the left of my hubby...he walks with a cane in his right hand and I don't want to get tangled up in it!

I like this -- just give in to the shadow. Usually I'm running around in circles trying to figure where to stand to avoid having a shadow in the picture.

We rarely see the sun, so shadows are also a rare sight here!

I also like to take shadow shots. They are kind of mysterious, aren’t they?
No, not afraid of mine. Afraid of a lot of other things, not my shadow though.

That would be a fun thing to do. You got some good shots there

I like shadow shots too, except when I'm doing cemetery research and accidentally obscure the epitaph because I'm in a hurry.

Shadow shots are cool. I'm not afraid of my shadow. I love my shadow. Ever since I saw Peter Pan with Mary Martin. :)

Looks like fun, I'm into noticing shadows also! But now you got me thinking way, way back of a radio broadcast, The Shadow Knows.

Hubby looks like an alien from Close Encounters.

Funny I usually try all sorts of gyrations and poses to avoid getting my shadow in pictures!!

Does anyone else remember playing Shadow Tag with friends? Thank you Betty for bringing back the memory! We haven't had many sunshiny days lately to see shadows! Snow showers off and on all day yesterday and cloudy today.

I wish we had more trails to hike around here. And more sunshine so that I could see my shadow once in a while.

My friend likes to take pictures of shadows, she got a really cool long shadow shot of me and her one time.

I'm not afraid of my shadow, but I used to try to outrun it :)

Shadows can sure make for some fun shots. Not afraid of mine, the cat can be of shadows on the wall though lol

I've never tried taking a shadow shot, they look kinda cool :) Next time we get some strong enough sun, I'll have to try it.

These pics made me chuckle. Isn't it funny how you and your husband are always on the same side. I wonder if me and my husband do the same thing. Hmm..

I like the effect the shadow has on the pictures.

One of my favorite pictures was taken on our wedding day (20 or so years ago) The picture is of me, but my husband's shadow is falling on my dress, and you can clearly see it since he was wearing his Marine Corps uniform, you see it from his hat on down. It's so cool.

You got some nice shadow shots. I'm always taking pics.

I must tell you a story about a shadow pic my husband took. We have a statue that cast a shadow on the wall so he took a pic of that, had it blown up and framed and entered into an art competition and won first place. Can you believe that? I was shocked. You never know where shadow pics will lead.

Interesting use of the camera. I don't use mine nearly enough, I forget it half the time. I particularly intend to take food pix and forget until the subject is destroyed.

Shadows are always fascinating to me. They make me look SO tall.

Liz A. said...

You're always on the same sides in photos? My niece discovered that she and one of her best friends always do that. In every picture, they're on the same sides.

jack69 said...

Not if I know it is me, but when I don't know, uh oh, like to day working, I startled at a movement to my side, and then realized it was my shadow. LOL

Good one!

I like shadows, too. I had a good shadow for my S entry...it was a bug on the opposite side of a leaf, but decided at the last minute to not use it.

Shadow pictures are fun- and the distorted one of your husband is wild. It could make for the start of a fascinating story. ;)
