way too......

My weekend in words and pictures.

Way too long car trip on a whirlwind hubby and me took Thursday evening to Friday evening; 850 miles in 27 hours (including some downtime for meetings hubby needed to attend).

Way too old to check into the hotel at 1:30 a.m. and be up at 7 a.m. the next morning.

Way too early, tree decorated where we went on whirlwind car trip. While hubby had his meetings, I had some time to look around the town and spotted this tree already up.  Too early in the season for me.

Way too much we are attached to technology. Having lunch in McDonald's, sign on wall "No loitering, limit your time to 60 minutes while you are consuming food." Got to admit, I did use their free WIFI (but only for 30 minutes).

Way too easy to forget where I would park the rental car when I stopped to do things.  Lots of silver small cars like what we had rented.  I had to really concentrate where I parked it to remember where to retrieve it.

Way too exhausted.  We boarded Koda, though I know I said I don't like to board him. But he did fine at the vet. In fact every time he was taken out for a walk and walked through the reception area, he got a treat from the receptionists on duty.  But he was tired when we picked him up Saturday. I don't think he slept the whole time we were gone. He made up for it Saturday and Sunday.

Way too delicious. Dinner Sunday evening.

Creamy garlic chicken

Sauteed carrots and broccoli.

Leftover potatoes from last night.

Way too many calories I would imagine.

Way too short of a weekend.

Koda missed you for sure. That is alot of driving you did. Love the tree. I celebrate Christmas year round.

That was a lot of driving! We've had way too much snow for mid-November so it actually looks like Christmas here.

Beautiful description. I smiled at the silver rental car. We have a silver car and I have been known to walk to the wrong one.

The whirlwind trips can get you. We are taking a 350mi round trip today and that is a long one. Going to buy our yearly supply of Georgia pecans. 100lbs today.
Glad all is well. But you are right some things are Way too.....

Your trip sounds like a blast! Yes, I heard restaurants were going to start limiting wi-fi use. For a short time, Starbucks charged for theirs because people were taking advantage of it, but they finally figured out that was going backward, not forward! They call them "laptop squatters." One way Starbucks is combating it is by removing the power plugs they had at each table in some locations. Although if you have a Mac, your laptop will go for 8 hours or more on a battery!

I like to see different parts of the country, but traveling by car is usually by the routes of way too many highways.
I wonder if 850 miles from where you live is much different from where you live.
I liked your weekend in pictures post.

That chicken looks wonderful. You will have to share your recipe! I agree that it is way too early for Christmas decorations, but they are all over our town too!

What a quick trip you had. Lots of miles put on in such a short time. Your dinner looked delicious! I'm sure Koda was glad to see you back home. Looking like Christmas here today with snow coming down.

Wow, that is quite the quick trip and tons of driving. Hopefully poor Koda is all rested up now.

What fun. Way too exhausting for me.

What too much fun! I was wondering if Koda came, but I see he went to the vet. That is a lot of miles in a short amount of time though - hard for me!

I saw a Christmas tree lit up in someone's home last night...the first of the season for me and, yes, way too early. It sounds like you enjoyed your trip even though it was long and tiring. Koda seems to have done just fine.

Way too tempting... I want your potatoes!

Koda looks content lounging back at home, this time in front of suitcase.

Hope the roadtrip was as expected or even better. Looks like a nice town even with early decorations.

On way home from church dedication last night, saw on the other side of highway a home had "JESUS" in lights.

Way-yonder too much for a weekend!! Koda looks like he's no worse for the wear...I hope we can say the same for you.

All in all, I bet the trip was fun.

Our weekend was pretty low key, but I have to say it was way too busy. Not sure what it was but by sunday night we were all toast.

Koda seems glad to be home. As are you, I'd imagine.

It's been a long time since we attempted a long trip in a short time like that. I would imagine hubby and I are way too old to like that anymore!

Dinner looks great - too bad I'm way too far away to drop by and join you.

Ok, this way too stuff can be addicting. ;)

...but those veggies and starches looked like way too delicious calories..!

...you remind me of Detective Murtaugh of "Lethal Weapon" II ... you know, the one who kept compalining that he was "...too old for this sh*t..!" LOL

I am glad that you, hubby, son and Koda are doing so well! Makes me smile and feel good inside to hear of your happiness..!

Way too enjoyable post! (Not really, it was just perfect!)

Gosh, Betty, that's a lot of driving in a short amount of time! You must be exhausted! My family once did a road trip - 5445 miles in 9 days. I think we slept for a week after arriving home!

And Koda! Marty does the same thing when we've needed to board him. Between his beagle nose, and his curious mind, I'm pretty sure he doesn't sleep either!

Happy week, friend!!

At least it's November. The craft stores have their Christmas stuff out in August. Then again, those of us who make things do need to start in August...

I can't believe Christmas is so close but we have snow(albeit wet and icky). This sounds like a tiring trip but Koda seems to be sleeping for both of you and happy to be back home:)

I've been on a sandwich kick.

You were jammed packed with "way toos"! I agree about the early decorating..hey, lets celebrate Thanksgiving first! Your dinner looked "way too" delicious! Have a good week...Koda has the right idea...sleep!

Love your 'way too' recurring theme, Betty. Way too creative! Doesn't seem that long ago I'd be up for an 875-mi. 'jaunt' - but I'm growing into a real whuss.

BTW, you say garlic and chicken in the same sentence and I'm soooo there! That dish looks amazing!

Love the way too... idea, cute.
Koda is adorable, love the name.
BTw, I'm new here, just wanted to say hi!

That is way too far to go on a weekend!

:)

Koda looks like he was awake waiting for you to come get him the whole time (and maybe he was) - sounds like they treated him pretty good though.

That creamy garlic chicken looks so yummy! And wait, it's not too early :) only 36 more days til Christmas!!

Debby@Just Breathe said...

That's a lot to do in 27 hours. I saw a tree up last week and I couldn't believe it. Why can't they wait until after Thanksgiving? Yes I think the kennel knocks them out, lots of barking keeping them awake. Your meal looks delicious. Debby

Hello There,
I navigated from Kat's blog seeking sanity and the sudden connection I felt with you is because #1 After my dog's demise I gotta a cat
#2 I too work from home (Edit Law journals)
#3 I dont like cold weather!

Now I think being a spectator is most of the times the best decision! I liked your blog to the point that now its on my list of Reading regularly!

Take care!
