zero

And finally we are at the end of A to Z. What an adventure it has been for us who have participated in it. Thank you all for commenting on my posts.  I hope you enjoyed seeing the sights of the area of our favorite walking place for Koda.

Z - Zero

Zero tolerance of allowing alcoholic beverages at this particular place.

I would like to say I have never seen anyone drinking alcohol down there, but I have.  I'm not sure how often the police patrol the area to look for such infractions.

I'm going to summarize my thoughts of this year's A/Z here rather than do a reflection post in a week or so; I'll keep it short and simple, skip it if you want, but scroll down to end for pictures of "everyone's" favorite corgi:

1.  Really helped to have a theme and to get all the posts written before the challenge started. I just tweaked here and there on some posts during it, but I was able to enjoy reading, instead of scrambling to write.

2.  Keep it short and simple. I tried to here (and you know how I can be with words). In visiting other blogs, if they were long posts, I didn't take the time to read them, brilliant as they might be, since I knew I had a lot more I wanted to accomplish during my blogging time.

3.  There were some blogs that were connected with Google Plus that for some reason I could not comment on even though I tried.  It was frustrating.

4.  Keep comment forms simple.  Blogger is more kind with that than Word Press.  If I have to search around a lot to find how to leave a comment, I'm less likely to leave one.

and now I leave you with three final pictures from where we walk Koda (anyone catch the posing of the pictures?)

(mini blog break; I don't plan to post anything for at least a week or so, but plan to keep reading blogs; thank you all who stuck with me and commented faithfully on my posts. I learned a lot about you guys from answering my questions; I truly did enjoy this year's challenge; will I do it next year; not sure, the jury is still out)

You did a wonderful job with this challenge. Really enjoyed the sights of the area. Your pictures were perfect. LOVE Koda. Such a sweetheart.

I agree with you. Some posts it was near to impossible to find where to leave comments. And if I had to fill out a whole lot of info to do it, I probably didn't bother. Keep it simple, people!

Congratulations!

I have absolutely loved going through this. I think about what the next letter might represent. I thought it would be ZONE today.

.000 is what the breathalyzer MUST read at the start of classes for DUI offenders when I teach them. I take selected readings in the middle of class in case someone has had alcohol; one student hid vodka in the toilet tank, so we instructors randomly test at times.

Yours was tops among the many enjoyable new blogs I found during the challenge.
Your posts were cleverly done and interesting.
Also, thank you for reciprocating by visiting and commenting regularly on my blog.
Oh, and give Koda some love for me :)

I know I have said this before but thanks for posting the most beautiful pictures of my favorite place, San Diego! I will miss this fun A - Z project.

Love the pics of Koda. I wish Dodger and I could walk there with you and Koda to see some of the sights you have written about.

So glad I found your blog. And I agree with your wrap-up sentiments. I avoided reading long posts and really tried hard not to write long ones either.

Love those pics of Koda! :)

I'm with you on having a theme and writing as many posts ahead of time as possible. I got stuck writing some during the Challenge but not too many. And I agree about those Google+ pages.

Koda posed nicely but looked ready to leave haha always someone getting drunk in those zero tolerance places. And agreed, people with pain in the butt comments need to make them easier

Nice to see Koda. You do live in a lovely area. I love the water, but don't really live near any these days.

I agree with your comments on long blogs and difficulties commenting. That is partly what the minions are supposed to watch for and report back on to the co-hosts. Obviously some get missed.

Glad you made it through.

Congrats on finishing the A-Z!! I agree with all your takeaways. I'm super glad I did all my research, wrote the posts, and prescheduled them before April. Otherwise it would have been impossible.

Way to go! :) I agree that commenting was a lot harder this year, and finding people who commented (when they were connected with Google+) was tough. I really appreciate people who leave links. :) So I try to remind myself to do so as well. ;) But this challenge was still a blast. My third year doing it. :) Congrats on making it through!

You did an excellent job. People on Google+ have to change there settings and I really dislike it when I can't comment. I do think short and sweet posts are the best but in saying that I don't always do that!!! Sweet photos of Koda.

I have really enjoyed it. Koda added zest to the conclusion!

I've enjoyed these walks with Koda. Clever theme!

I've enjoyed the a-z process. I did not write my posts ahead - that would have been smart - but difficult for a procrastinator such as I.

I hope you join the challenge next year. I'm hoping to participate again but plan to come up with a different theme.

Koda is adorable :)

In reading your summary I agreed with most everything you said, but especially #3. That irked me. I have a G+ account but I didn't want to have my comments on a blog get posted to it, so I generally skipped commenting on those ones.

Congratulations on completing A to Z :)

Your photos are all so beautiful, and Koda is quite the model! Looks to me like you are living under perpetual blue skies.. how nice!

Koda loves to have her picture taken:) (her??) Love the final blog and sad that people do not listent o these simple restrictions.I hate it when one finds glass everywhere and my dog has no shoes to wear-it is really horrible. Love what you said about blogs. I like pictures and shorter things. There are some people that had left a message on my blog and when I tried to find them I didn't know how to

I feel like WordPress comment forms are more forgiving than Blogger.com ones because on WordPress anyone can link to their A to Z blog, but not all blogger.com blogs give that option. Then I have to live a link, and it makes me feel like I am saying "look at me". As a WordPress user who still has a couple of blogger.com blogs, I just felt like everyone was divided into two camps. The blogger.com, and the Wordpress.com people. However, some people did not even have comment forms, and that was kind of odd. Oh well, just sharing my thoughts, and Koda is as cute as always.

Linda said...

Hi Betty, I wanted to say that I have had the same issues in commenting on some blogs that are using Google+. I haven't registered an account yet with Google+ and don't plan to, and I don't like the idea that I am being forced to, just to comment on a blog. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I had to take a look at the Corgis again. :)

Good summary. You're done!

Betty,

I really enjoyed reading your A - Z posts. I also enjoyed exchanging comments with you on my own blog. Thank you for reading all my posts. I'm one of those people who has a profile linked to Google + and I agree it's more difficult to find people that way. Thank you for the extra effort you made.

I hope to keep up with your blog. Enjoy your break!

Chris said...

Congrats on finishing the challenge! I enjoyed your theme and it was nice to see Koda at the end. I agree that G+ and WP blogs are harder to comment on, I try to make the effort but it's time consuming. Same for longer posts.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I hope to see you again soon. Enjoy your well-earned blogging break! :)

I'm with you on the Google +. It keeps prompting me to switch over, but you can never find the blog through it. (As for the other, when you go to the blog, click on the title of the post. Then only that post appears, and the comment form is at the bottom. I just learned that this year, too.)

I can't wait to read your post-AtoZ adventures. I think a lot of people will be taking a break. I'll be back to blogging M, W, and F.

As for alcoholic beverages, my friend walked at this park in a not-so-nice part of town. I went walking with her one day and saw drug paraphernalia littered about. That was the last time I walked there!

It was fun! I liked the theme ideas... and I was even able to keep up with posting without stressing... I didn't read as much as I wanted to but I cleaned up the blogs I follow and added a few from the A to Z... I still want to continue going through the sign up list and clicking on blogs that look interesting to see if I can find more that I would like to follow... One day as I was leaving comments I was getting email fail emails, but they were the comments that I left, so that was weird... and I've learned to click on the notify me in the comment as I have been missing the replies from the authors of the blogs... Happy Blogging!! :)

I'm not sure yet if I want to join next year's A to Z challenge either, but I might! : )

Congratulations Betty! We made it! I enjoyed your walks and am happy to meet Koda. I agree with you about long posts and the inability to figure out how to leave a comment. My new resolution is to figure out how the heck Google+ works. A mystery to me yet...

I agree with all your suggestions, especially the "keep it short" one. This picture with Koda is beautiful and those knarly trees must share many secrets about all the dog walkers. They're the best kind to have your secrets because they never tell. Enjoy your rest ...... you earned it.

That Koda...he's the king of the park bench! And quite cute, too.

My first thought when I read "Zero Tolerance" was "I just bet..." then I read your second sentence. I have full faith in mankind to break the rules.

I can't say enough bad things about that devil named google, so I'll stop right here on that.

I have a wordpress account, so it's easier for me to leave comments, but like you, I am not going to do a lot of work to leave a comment...I'm slow enough about that as it is! :::innocent look:::

GREAT job on the A to Z, Betty. You always do a good job blogging!
