moss

A/Z; halfway through the month; thanks all who have visited and commented from the challenge; thanks all who usually read my blog for sticking with me through this challenge!

Our theme; where we walk Koda, our corgi.

M - moss

See the green moss down by the water edge?

M is also for music
We've seen various performers as we have walked Koda
This guy is playing the drums
We saw several playing the guitar

Do you like listening to music?

Do you play a musical instrument?

I like listening to music.

I don't play a musical instrument, but I'm married to a professional guitarist who has played guitar for over 50 years.

I admire those that do play an instrument.  If I played one, I think I would like to have tried the piano.

I know about ten cords on guitar and used to know a few blue grass riffs, but I strum with a white man's rhythm so I only noodle around now when the house is empty.

Just trying to learn to play does at least give you tremendous appreciation for those that have mastered any instrument.

Beautiful!

I love music. I used to play the piano but haven't in years. I've always wanted to learn how to play the drums.

We have lots of grey and green moss at my house.

We also have lots of instruments at my house. My little sister loves to play and listen to music. I love to listen to music, but I don't like to play music instruments. I wanted to play the drums when I was in grade school. : )

I play the piano. My canines have always liked it when I sit down to play. Need to do that more often.

As for moss, we have Spanish moss that hangs down from oak trees on our property.

I'm a music teacher and play flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. I'm also teaching myself to play the piano. I can't imagine a life without music!

I took piano lessons for seven years and can still play a bit. I tried to teach myself guitar......hard!

Both my sons play several instruments. I admire that.

My dream is to have a yard covered in moss.

:) You might find some moss-covered musicians someday... :)

I tried to play the violin, trumpet, and the piano. I only learned after many years to play the piano badly. Reading music just wasn't my thing, and my fingers turned into thumbs when I sat on a piano bench/stool.

Moss and Music is an unique combo. I've found out that in the woods moss grows on the north side of trees.. but never thought about it on the rocks by the water. I play the mountain lap dulcimer. I'm not much good at reading music but learned to play by number. I've music books that have the numbers by the notes. Guitars are wonderful. One of my sons took lessons for several years.

The cat would eat the moss and run from the music lol

As always I love your bench perspective. Our eyes are opened by what you see.
I’m still trying to find my music niche. Of course my tastes have changed with each passing decade. Currently, I guess I would say my favorite music is nature.
I don’t play an instrument, but would appreciate being serenaded by someone who does.

My mom would gather moss and use it when she created her Faberge styled eggs(for the grassy areas inside the eggs(yup real eggs. I love music-almost all forms(no to rap and hip hop. I used to play the piano many years ago

I think the guitar is coolest instrument ever. Of course I can't play it. I can play the piano and the flute. Major band geek in high school...

I was just thinking this morning that we are half way through... I play a bit of piano but I don't practice enough... and the recorder but not since the sixth grade, lol... Happy Tuesday! :)

My musical ability is limited to listening to music which is a shame since we have a perfectly good baby grand piano that only gets played when my kids or grandkids are here.

I admire those musicians who go to public places and play just for the joy of the music. I used to play piano but not anymore. My husband plays guitar and I swear with four guitars he should join a band but he won't.

Unique to see a drummer, I usually see guitar players. Talented musicians in my husband's family. My mom used to play piano years ago. I deconstructed her big vintage (dusty, cobwebs, mildew not moss) upright piano in the basement last week, only way to get it out, as it moved in when there weren't walls down there.

That's such a pretty shot of the water. I enjoy listening to some music, but I don't play an instrument.

Moss conjures up such a physical memory for me. And, while I love being a city girl, your pictures make me long for a little more greenery in my life. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful ! We do have lots of green as well as grey moss at my house.

I used to play piano, but not anymore . I even tried to learn guitar but in vain :(

I don't play an instrument but I love to sing. I am not that great but good enough for me!

You have hit on another unique entry. It is hard to imagine a drummer by the sea.... Neat!

I tried the dulcimer once. Other people are so good, I just listen to them.

I LOVE music. It is keeps the soul alive. I once tried the piano for a little while and a vintage organ.

The moss kinda grosses me out.

I did play the oboe in school, but I haven't touched it in years. I appreciate music now.

I love that you guys get to enjoy music as you go for your walks. We don't have a place like this here--except downtown (Nashville) and that's a different matter entirely!

I haven't played in a while, but I can play some violin and a bit of mandolin and guitar.

Love how you are finding so much detail where you walk. This is a good theme.

The last photo reminds me of the coastal city that we used to vacation at when I was a kid. I played trumpet/cornet for about 15 years. I haven't played in a while since I don't have an instrument but I may get another one some day.

I LOVE listening to music - I think it is yet another gift from our Lord. It moves me. Sometimes it speaks to me. It can make me feel happy. I can play it when I feel sad and have a good cry. I know you have a lot of music in your life there. lol

Debby@Just Breathe said...

I do love listening to music but I often forget. It is something I need to remember to do because it can be so peaceful. Of course at Christmas I listen everyday! No I am not musical. I do admire the people who play in the parks are along popular water places to walk.

My hubby would probably kill for a chance to make music in that atmosphere!
I wonder if those musicians have 'tip jars' set out? (Not that DH would ever do that - lol!)

Being an only child, I was compelled to take lessons for years - both on the violin (daddy) and piano (mom) ... which I totally HATED. Today I can't read a single note of music! Talk about developing a mental block!

I do see a little moss out there. And I've never been able to play an instrument but I do enjoy hearing music at the beach/boardwalk, especially if it's a live street performer. On a typical summer night my hometown beach played Frank Sinatra CDs over a speaker system but if there was a special event or gathering there might be a local band.

Koda is so cute! I love your theme and your pictures are so great. I played the piano growing up, my husband plays the drums (but not so much recently). Your dog is very lucky to go walking so many different places.

Betty,

You live in a very beautiful place!

I enjoy music very much but can't sing or play an instrument. I like listening to my husband and children sing. My girls also play the piano. Music is a very special gift!

I went to visit the Mills Family (Justin and Myla) and their brood of babes--they moved back home to Wyoming...we talked about when he and your hubs used to play at Faith. Justin pulled out his 12-string and played the song he played when he auditioned for the worship team....I sat there and was thinking about when your hubby played for me that night when Moose and I visited.

Your husband really is a talented guitarist!

You've been on my mind and my heart lots lately. Every time you pop into my brain I pray for you, most often I am driving someone, somewhere...that seems to be where I do my best praying as of late!

I miss you, and think of you often!

Love,
J.
