Koda

A/Z Challenge (theme, pictures from where we walk Koda)

K - Koda

Of course I would use Koda for the letter K.  Of course I would see Koda when we go walking where we normally walk him :) Hubby actually took this from his cell phone; I thought it was a pretty good picture of Koda (and hubby's shadow :)

Because he is going to be 10 this year, 10 quick facts about him, a lot you probably know if you've read my blog before:

1.  He loves food.
2.  He is spoiled.
3.  He hogs the bed (though lately he's been sleeping on the floor, I think the bed is hot for him since I haven't taken the winter comforter off yet).
4.  He is not fond of cats.
5.  He is fond of food.
6.  He gets car rides on the weekend.
7.  He is a cancer survivor (lymphoma; in remission since August 2011).
8.  He has diabetes as a result of the prednisone he was taking for a bit when he was being treated for cancer and twice a day, morning and evening, we have to give him an insulin shot.
9.  He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  He differs from the Cardigan Corgi in that he doesn't have a tail, but a bit of a stub of one that sort of wags when he's excited.  He came from a line of champions, he's registered at the AKC. His "official" name is _____(son's name) Koda of the Big Sky (since we lived in Montana when we got him).
10.  He is a gift from God; we got him right when we needed a laugh and something in common the whole family could talk about.

Isn't he the cutest corgi you've ever seen?

Yes, he's very cute. And what a lovely survival story.

Oh yes, Koda is adorable, and very attentive looking in the photo. I love corgis. I agree with Liz A. that is an incredible survival story. I read somewhere, a poem or story about our pets leaving their little footprints in our hearts, and I think that's so true. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog.

Koda is fantastic and remind me of the corgis that my parents had when I was younger. I think that at one point we have 4 or 5. Its great to see a picture of Koda after following his story for the last fortnight or so. I also did a post on my dog last week for the letter E so its nice to see that I was not alone. Hope you are having a good weekend so far.

He is ADORABLE!

The Pembroke's tails were bobbed because the County Pembroke charges a tax on all animals with a tail.

Koda looks JUST LIKE my Andy! Andy is no longer here, but he was a corgi too. I don't know why I didn't see that in the other pics!

It is a great picture of Koda. Yes he is the cutest corgi I have ever seen. Ever since I started following Princess Diana years ago and all things British they have had a special place in my heart. I actually have a few figurines too! Thanks for sharing all about your precious baby.

I'm in love with those ears!
... OK, with all of him, actually; he's adorable, Betty. :)

So cute! And a lymphoma survivor. That's amazing. My parents' Corgi is Pembroke Welsh, as well, although he's all light-colored, no dark at all. Otherwise, he looks very similar to Koda!

How cute is he and so wonderful that he is being cared for. Great survivor

Love the photo! I'm always taking shadow photos of my babydog! She and Koda have a lot in common, she's spoiled rotten, a bed hogger, loves food, and was a gift from God!

Glad Koda is in remission!

Yes he certainly is! I can tell he is much loved. A good dog is like a family member. They work their way into your life and heart. We surely miss our Heidi. She was 12 and precious to me. I'm glad you have your beautiful Koda

You know, I think of Koda as a distinguished gentleman, but cute is okay... like any good "Mom", your little man will always be cute in your eyes...!

He certainly looks well cared for and his love for his human's are obvious in the lights of his eyes...

Yay, when I saw Koda's picture, I guessed he was a Corgi and I found out in the 10 facts that I was right!

He's a cutie and a tough survivor. I'm glad you have him to walk every day.

Koda is adorable. Thanks for the comment on my blog and I thought I'd come see your A to Z. I read them all, starting out wondering where the bench was. I would have said Long Beach until I read San Diego in "I" is for Information. My kids live in San Diego so we see them frequently and spend time there. Great posts, read all of them. I wish we lived closer to the beach so we could walk our dog there. I would walk on the jetty. http://yeakleyjones.blogspot.com/

I feel like my Dog Hurt is a gift from God too. We got him right when my dad got sick. When my dad died he was something that me and my mom could focus on. Something that made us smile and laugh.

Meeting and knowing Koda, has been a real thing to us. Now we notice the Corgi's more in the park, and I always tell the one walking the Corgi, that one of my best friends on the net is a Corgi. At times they do look at me funny! LOL

Always a good entry here.
