exercise

And on with A/Z (theme, place where we walk our corgi)

E - Exercise

A man getting some exercise on a kayak.

Three men kayaking on a different morning.

There are companies out there that arrange groups to kayak. It looks like fun, except I'd be afraid I'd tip over and couldn't right myself, but I'm sure it is good exercise to paddle the kayak through the ocean water.

What do you think? Would you like to try to get some exercise this way?

I'd love to do this! I've told my husband I want to buy a Kayak! Anything that gets me on the water is a good thing.

Kayaking looks like a great exercise for your heart and upper body. If I knew how to swim I'd love to try it - I'd be afraid of capsizing in deep water myself.

You're so fortunate to live in a warm-weather city. I'd get so much more exercise outdoors if I didn't have a six-month winter to contend with :/

No kayaks for me. But it definitely looks like it might be fun.

I'd probably end up in the water Betty!!

Not me either. These days walking is my preferred kind of exercise.

That would be toooo close to the water here in Florida where we have alligators.

No, I don’t think I would ever attempt kayaking. My husband tried it once and did wind up falling out and into the bay.

The first pic almost looked like there were icicles hanging from the top, but I figured it must be masts even before I got to the second picture! lol

No kayaking for me. I'm not outdoorsy. ;)

Love your photos! Tried kayak while at a cabin and I'd love to do it again on local lakes that rent them. I confess I would again be staying not far from the shore, deep water would make me nervous. But what a great feeling gliding along.

I'm just not a fan of water sports. I will canoe in shallower water, but that's it.

Kayaks are surprisingly stable. I was a bit worried when I first did it as a kid but as long as you have someone steady you as you hop in you won't have any issues. I recommend you give it a try some day.

Water is for showers and brushing my teeth.

I've tried it - it is harder than it looks!!

That water looks way too cold too... I remember the Pacific Ocean being rather chilly! I love the guy wearing the warm hat!

Not a water person, but a long hike into the woods! Excellent!

I really think I would. I keep looking at them, and thinking. LOL

love the reflective pictures. Good catches all.

Love from South Carolina...

You keep me guessing about the next letter.

I have kayaked before but not very skillfully. I don't think it is something I will be trying again even though it is very good exercise.

NO! I could not get my legs in there with my knee and hip! And my hubs almost drown in one - heehaw - you do have to know what you are doing!

We have a kayaking company just down the road. I want to go, but its a gator tour for sure, thats what makes me nervous. lol

No thanks, i'll stick to my p90x workout, don't have to leave the house lol

I'd rather someone else do the paddling. I am not great with boats. Usually end up sick!

No, kayaking scares me because of the tipping over part! I certainly wouldn't do it in the oceam. I don't mind rowing a boat.

I have done some kayaking. It always freaked me out because it was easy to tip over. But once I got over the fear it was a blast. Very hard work though! Talk about a work out!

I've never kayaked, but I rowed a bit when I was younger. Looks like fun.

This does look like fun! Deceptively easy.

My SIL and her hubby purchased an inflatable kayak a few years ago to take on vacation -- but spent the first summer practicing in their swimming pool!

Oops - I just realized that 'easy' comment may have been misinterpreted.
With my track record, I wouldn't EVEN try!

Hope you're enjoying a great weekend!

Great photos! Running water creates positive ions in the atmosphere and is very calming. Nothing like a walk beside a river with a Corgi!

Ain't no way! However, I love to watch it. There's a place in Tennessee, the Ocoee Dam, where there is a big kayaking adventure. You mentioned flipping over...many of these guys (even when it's cold) will flip themselves over, do a complete flip and get all wet, I don't know why.

There are some Kayakers in Houston too that float down Houston's bayous. I've never been, but I have thought about going. : )

Today I spotted a biking race where people had the dogs go along with them. Not sure if I would want to do kayaking since I never learned to swim. I like walking and bicycling just fine :).

I do have a kayak. In fact my whole family are kayakers. You can't roll in a lake kayak.... the long pointy ones. The ones you roll easily are the round rapids ones. That would scare me too. I hear when you take lessons, that is the first thing they teach. No thank you. I don't need to practice that. There is nothing more peaceful then Ito be on a smooth lake and paddle around in a kayak. Truly relaxing (and good) exercise. I like to fish too and that's pretty dreamy to sit out in your kayak and catch some fish.

It looks like fun, but I would probably have to pee once I got in the dang thing...

My son just asked me today when we could go kayaking. Weather permitting, we'll put the kayaks in on Easter weekend.

Kayaking looks like so much fun. I need to add it to my list to try out someday.

Yes, I have kayaked on the ocean (near the shore!) off the coast of Cortes Island (near Vancouver Island),during our holiday last summer. It was FUN! :)

I like walking and water aerobics. I will be glad when I'm well enough to go back to the gym again. I miss it.... And I need it. I have been able to walk a bit more. That is good. Happy exercising to you

Hubby has always wanted to take kayaking lessons... we went rafting in Yosemite once and he proposed... :)

AFter getting dumped from a kayak in The Keys in December, I decided I'm a canoe person!
