cat

A - Z Challenge (our theme is pictures from where we walk Koda, our corgi)

C - Cat

See the cat sitting quietly in the bushes?  There are several feral cats down where we walk Koda.  They all look healthy and well fed.  I have seen people coming down and feeding them and I've also seen a rat (ran in front of me one time when I was walking down there alone without Koda, not sure who got scared more, me or it) so there are things to hunt down there.

Here's another one on a different day.

For the most part they stay away from people and while Koda might spot them while we are walking, they sauter away, figuring they are safe since he is on his leash.

One day he would love to be off his leash and try to chase one.

I don't see that happening.

Two part question today:

Does Koda like cats?  (come back tomorrow for the answer for that if you don't already know)

Do you like cats? (I do like cats, I've never had a cat though as a pet, I always "threaten" Koda that when something happens to him, we're going to replace him with a cat)

I like kittens. I actually love kittens. I had several cats growing up and experienced lots of kittens. You keep bringing back things I've forgotten. What are we going to do with D. See you another night!

I don't mind cats. If they are friendly. But I don't think I would still be walking there if I had seen a rat. I would probably have dropped dead on the spot. I am scared of little tiny mice

What a lovely theme you've chosen ! I'm loving your sojourns with Koda. When do we get to see Koda ?

Our dog Ziggy keeps cats out of our fenced back yard. Among his vocabulary is that word "cat". I can tell him there is a cat in the back yard and he will chase it into the pasture next door.

I have two cats. LOVE them dearly. Enjoyed seeing the feral kitties where you are. Looking forward to hearing how Koda feels about them.

I don't like cats because they act creepy!

I don’t think I would choose a cat as a pet. But I’ve never really known one up close and personal. My daughter has 4 cats. She has to keep telling them to get off the table or counter. I would not like that.
We have a little dog. We have to walk him in the rain, snow and 100 degree weather.
Thank you for letting me sit with you on the bench.

Quite the hiding spot for critters in all that shrubbery (flowering in summer?) Koda can dream about the chase. I may see you to the left of the cat, your shadow anyway.(: Don't think I'd ever tire of that beautiful blue water.

I'm pretty sure you have mentioned Koda's feelings about cats before so I'll be looking forward to your answer to see if I'm right. I have had a few cats in my lifetime. I did love them but now I have neither cats of dogs.

I only like "other peoples" cats - won't want to own one. :)

I suspect Koda would like to just talk to a cat (and he would be told off!)

I'm not really a cat person. They're too independent for me. They don't seem to need me the way dogs do. :)

cats are fine by me, as are dogs at my sea. Funny how they just trot off taunting him a bit haha

Quit teasing Koda, Shirl used to say Mama would trade me for her a little sister.
Love the views. I especially like the tree with the cat.
Love from this side of our world...

Koda hates cats. So do I.

Pretty kitties! Koda doesn't like cats. I, however, LOVE cats. We have four, which hubby tells me is our limit. There's a feral colony here, too. They live behind a hardware store, and there's a gorup of us who feed them. It sounds like the colony there is a managed colony too.

Cats outnumber dogs at our house, two to one. Used to be three to one, but the next cat will have to look us up; we're wary about animals outliving us at this point. I'll bet Koda thinks you may be getting him a cat to chase.

I'm not much of a cat person but we did get a few free ones to live on our property to help with the mice situation. They are basically ferrel at this point. It's hard to get close enough to pet them these days. But they get along great with our dog who often things she is a cat! haha

thank you for dropping by my blog Betty. I am glad to meet you. It looks like you live in a beautiful area of SoCal. I envy you being near the ocean. I grew up in Long Beach and spent endless hours at the beach. I live in Riverside County now and really miss being near the sea.
We had a cat until we realized my kids were allergic to her. From then on we were a dog family. My 4 legged daughter died and we are dogless now. I really miss Heidi. I look forward to meeting your Koda.
Your children might change their minds about locating their birth moms. I wasn't interested in locating mine when I was young but wanted to as I grew older.
Thanks again for stopping by my blog.

What a gorgeous location you have to walk Koda!

I'm guessing Koda likes cats.

As for me, I like to look at them but I don't want one in my house.

What cute photos!

I was never a fan of cats even though I had one in my teens that I loved. I've always preferred dogs. But, 4 yrs. ago my son brought a kitten home out of the blue and I fell in love with her. She's so big now but is the most loving cat I've ever seen.

I love kittens, but I'm allergic. My girlfriend had a cat and when I was alone with her she was calm and quiet, when her owner came home she became wild and crazy. Took on each personality - it was fun to watch. Now I just sneeze my face off! LOL

I don't think Koda likes cats, but as you know, I LOVE cats!!

I have two cats, one indoor and one outdoor. I love cats. They care for themselves. No 25 degree walks in the winter.
Our local beach park has feral cats too. I want to pet them so bad but they just run.

I like cats and had one once but everyone including me is allergic to them in our house!

I love dogs and cats. We've had a couple of cats for about 10 years, and they make wonderful companions.

I don't really like cats. However, when I was a little girl, we found a cat and kept it for awhile. Then it had kittens and my dad made us give them away. It was all very sad. That cat was like a dog - very affectionate.

But, I love all animals pretty much, so though I'm not a cat fan, I will tolerate them. My allergies have trouble with them, though!!

And, I am just totally in love with dog cuddles!

I'm going out on a limb here and guess that yes, Koda likes the felines.

I've no aversion to others' kitties, but based on the way I treat my dogs, I'd make an awful cat-mommy. I need to know where they are every minute of the day and want them to come/cuddle on command.
Yup, my self-esteem would surely suffer if I were to get a cat!

At least people feed the stray cats. My feelings are hurt every time I see people abandon cats in our complex since we live near a field, and they seem to think the cats will just go back to being wild, or they just do not care. I probably talked about this before, but I adopted my little cat Irina back in June because it broke my heart to see her eating grass outside, and not having a home. I just wish people would think before they adopt a cat or dog because dumping them off is just not right.

LOL, I like cats! But I think you knew that already! Why don't y'all send them to a animal shelter, or something? Poor Koda! : )

Not too many dogs like cats, so I guess Koda doesn't either. I don't dislike cats, but I am not overly fond, either. Never owned one.

We are not in a drought situation this year, thankfully, but in recent years past, the drought we were in was used for an excuse for about everything...including raising our utilities (which they never lowered when the drought was over).

So funny that that's how you threaten Koda! Wonder if it would work on my dogs? They'd probably just run to the door when they heard the word "cat"!
