Announcing A/Z Theme

With much fanfare (drum roll........), I am pleased to announce my theme for the 2014 A to Z Challenge starting April 1, 2014.

(Really, it is not that big of a deal of a theme, but got to build it up a bit)

This is my 3rd year for signing up for A/Z.  The first year I signed up really late in March and really had no idea what I was getting into.  Didn't really plan my posts and winged it a lot from day to day what to write about.

Last year I signed up the first day I could and had pretty much all my posts written, but withdrew because it was a stressful family time.  I deleted all the posts (which I regret since some of them had some really good thoughts that I can't seem to recreate as hard as I try) . Learned my lesson not to delete, LOL.

This year I decided to go with a very simple theme.  It came to me even before I had 100% committed to doing the challenge.  I just started snapping pictures and wondered if I could actually get 26 letters of items from A to Z from one certain place.

Between my husband and me, who is really so more creative than me and does take better pictures than I do, we were able to pull it off  and get 26 pictures.  Some of them are a stretch but still fit within the theme of A/Z.  Only one actually didn't come from this particular area and I'll tell which one when we get to it.

So without further ado, I announce our theme for A/Z 2014:

Pictures taken from where we walk Koda down by the boat dock close to where we live.  Its funny, it is an area that is man built and further development of the area is going to be happening in the years to come.  Its not a big stretch of land but pretty.  Beautiful sunsets.  Pleasant breezes to walk Koda even on the hottest of days.

And 26 pictures of things from there.  Not all the pictures were taken when we were walking Koda. Some were taken on our weekend car rides with Koda (yes he is that spoiled).  The period of time they were taken was about from October through the first part of March.

Not many words, just pictures, maybe a few lines of explanation.

I hope you enjoy.

Our dog Ziggy loves car rides and is spoiled. When we got him back from the kennel when we went out of town recently, they mentioned that he was spoiled. It's very hard no to spoil them.

Hugs,
Carol

I think that is a great idea - you know those pictures might be something valuable in the future as you say the area is going to be changing. Success right?

Seriously, I think this will contribute to our getting to know you a little better and more importantly, feel closer to you ... as seen through the eyes of Koda!

PS - From having been there/done that, I can sure empathize with regrets over deleting material. Maybe someone, somewhere will see this a take heed?

Have a great weekend!

This is great! I love to see what others see in life. It is amazing how we pass something every day and don't take in the wonder of it. Thank you for delivering the wonder (even if possibly mundane) to the rest of us! I am also very jealous as I cannot manage to take a decent photograph to save my life! Best wishes - Melanie

I could have written the same thing about the AtoZ Challenge. I participated in 2012, signed up in 2013 and then withdrew due to illness and personal issues. I haven't yet signed up for 2014, but I'm toying with the idea, and like you, I've been thinking through what would be an easy theme. My 2012 year was all over the map, some long & some short, and very time consuming, as I didn't plan & write them ahead. I'll be following your picture posts this month, regardless of whether or not I join the challenge.

Great idea, Betty, and not nearly as easy as it sounds!

I choked when I read you deleted your posts! Please don't ever do that again! Phew!

Looking forward to keeping in touch,

As they say pictures speak a thousand words. A good idea for a theme.

Can't wait, Betty! This sounds like it's going to be so much fun! It's going to be a great adventure to see more of the area where you live. Can I make one request? Can "K" be a photo that includes my favorite corgi?!
