truth is

Juli did this on her blog tonight and I realize its been a while since I did one too (okay, I think I only did one Truth Is) but I thought I would do one now.

Truth is ..... cancer sucks.  Without revealing too much because of privacy, a dear friend received not the best of news recently and has decided they won't be pursuing any more treatment; they'll be breaking the news to their only child in a few days; I can't imagine; but I will continue to pray.

Truth is ..... I have a love and hate friendship with Facebook.  I know it can suck people in and spend way too much time on it.  I downsized the majority of my friends on there a few months back, mainly just my family and a few others.  Other than the games on it, I'd probably eliminate it all together.  However, tonight when I went onto Facebook, I saw a great update about something that had me worried about something else (I know I'm being vague, but again privacy) and the moment I saw it, I said "thank you Lord" and then did a happy dance.

Truth is ..... we got some much needed rain today, which was nice.

Truth is ..... our temperatures cooled down this past week.  We went from the 70s to the low 60s.

Truth is ..... I'm complaining I'm cold, and I have nothing to complain about with the majority of the country and we didn't lose our electricity.

Truth is .... I signed up for the A/Z challenge starting April 1st where you blog a letter a day (except for Sundays) from A/Z.  Sign up here if you are interested; its going to be a lot of fun.

Truth is ..... I have 15 entries already written for it and a cute theme.

Truth is ..... Pat has all 26 entries written, in rhyme.

Truth is ...... God does answer prayers.  Sometimes not the way we expect, but his way is always best, even though it doesn't make sense.

(If you pray, please do say a prayer for my dear friend, God will know exactly who you are praying for.)

First of all sorry about your friend, I will send her my prayers!

Wow Betty...I think 60's is too cold for me too and consider 70's and above warm, but right now I really wish the temperature would at least get into the 60's. I am glad y'all are finally getting some rain. I've been watching the Weather Channel and they have been speaking about California and it's drought and how you need the snowfall in the mountains during the winter to supply y'all's water. I'm glad y'all are finally getting some rain.

I might try that A to Z challenge, but i'm not sure yet! : )

I have a friend with terminal cancer. She is eliminating all sugar. She says cancer feeds off of sugar. She has a brother, who works with a man who has a terminal child. Two years ago, they gave the child just a few months to live. They removed sugar, (all food that turn into sugar)and the child is still living. Praise God. I also read recently that lemongrass tea has something in it that kills cancer cells. These are things I would try if faced with the situation. I will pray for your friend.

PS. We have been below zero for about a month now. Constantly, with wind chills in the -20 to -40*F range. We have also had a lot of snow. It is crazy. We are SO ready for spring!

I'm tired of being cold too. -5 below last night here. Prayers are going out for your friend.

I liked reading your truth is statements and will be praying for your friend for sure.

I said a prayer for your friend.

I love FB except for people's political posts. I started to unfollow a number of people, so that helps. Still 'friends' but I just don't get their posts in my feed.

I'd take the 60's any day, care to share? I have all 26 done indeed and the 4 more too, halfway through may at my zoo haha hate facebook a ton and yeah cancer sucks the big one also. Especially since North America has no want to cure it, big pharma that is.

YES CANCER SUCKS, I have a dear friend in that position. he, is slowly painfully saying good bye.
The a-z sounds like fun. Truth is I have been a little afraid to get in on something like that.
I do understand "the Truth is".

Love from Florida... Truth is, I just prayed.

I'd love to see video of your happy dance! Looking forward to your A-Z. I'm in awe of all the money our local high school students raise in Relay for Life and the love/support they show during the survivor lap. Praying for your friend.

I'm so sorry about your friend. I'll add my prayers, too.

Can't wait to read your A-to-Z posts. I'll still trying to decide if I'll participate. ☺

I am so sorry about your friend and you are so right....cancer sucks.
I would love a little of your 60s today but I am grateful that we will at least get into the 30s for a change.

Even though my clean car got rained on yesterday I say "bring on the rain!" I know we should not complain but it sure feels cold.
Have a wonderful weekend. Debby

Cancer does suck, my friend. I am sorry to hear that it has sunken it's teeth into your friend. May your friend find peace in their decision, comfort in taking their power back and putting their energy into enjoying the rest of their journey here.

We aren't meant to understand His plans on this side of Heaven, but that sure doesn't make it any easier. We got some medical feedback ourselves this week that was very hard on the heart (not cancer!) and many tears have fallen. I revel in knowing that He knows me, though, and He knows our needs and our hearts.

May God be with you both during this difficult time.

Saying a prayer. We have a similar situation here, and it's breaking my heart. Cancer totally sucks. xoxo Mar

Cancer does suck, I'm sorry that your friend has to have that conversation. :( FB is horrible, and if it weren't the only easy way to communicate with out of state/country-ers I'd also ditch it all together.

*sigh*

Thanks for Truth-ing with me! Sometimes it's just nice to let it all out, yes? And A-Z... God Love ya! Not for me this year!

Truth is we need a cure for Alzheimer's also. Love this popping of "truth is" ideas here. We have wonderful weather here in Florida as well.

A to Z! Now that would be a challenge!

Cancer is the bane of humanity. I've lost so many friends, family, and acquaintances from it - I've lost count. Each one that it took - diminished my life. I can only hope that "God called them home, early" because He wanted them to be in the joy of His kingdom.

I like your post - - lots of information. We are some of the last hold-outs for not doing FB. You can get a LOT of information but there is frequently a lot of drama, too. I know it would suck our time away and I have too much going on as it is.
So sorry about the friend. Cancer is an awful thing.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, too. Prayers for her. Seems there is so much serious illness out there and as we get older, it affects our peers. As for Facebook, I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it, so I rarely post anything. It's great for following 'interests' and close family/friends. I think I should pare it down to just that.

Cancer does suck. Okay if I send out my good thoughts for your friend and family?

I have a love/hate relationship with FB, too, and I don't even play any of the games!

I am sorry to hear about your friend. Am praying for her.

Truth is I did the A to Z challenge last year and it was fun. I am looking forward to yours this year.

My treasured Chihuahua didn't make the list either, but then I never expected him to. I am a big Golden family, having had two as our kids were growing up. If they weren't so big to have in the house, I'd have another one in a heartbeat!

Enjoy your temperatures because we are struggling to stay above 0 here!

Oh my dear friend - I hate to hear about your friend. I do know there is a time and place , but it doesn't make things easier. I will send up some prayers.

I have a friend who just found out she has to have a double mastectomy. Cancer does suck.

Glad you got some rain.

I didn't even know you were on Facebook.

And believe it or not we are supposed to be hit with snow again this week - never happened since I have been here!

Thanks for visiting my blog today Betty! I enjoyed your "Truth Is..." I am signed up for the A To Z Challenge and have started on some of my posts as well. I enjoyed it last year and met some new friends.

Oh Betty. How very sad.

Lord, I lift before you today Betty's friend. We pray, of course, for a miracle of total healing. But if this isn't Your will, we pray for strength for the battle. Be with them as they prepare to break the difficult news, and be with the heart of their child to receive it. In it all, Lord, bring Your amazing grace, and Your perfect peace. Amen.

GOD BLESS, Betty - pass on my heartfelt wishes to your friend.

Oh my, you and I have so much in common.
I am sending prayers for your friend and her family. I am so sorry.
I am so sick of hearing the word "cancer". It just really ticks me off. I wish the word (and therefore the disease) would be erased forever.
Facebook. Yes. Me too. I get so sick of it. Especially during an election. Good grief. But then it is a really good way to stay in touch with old friends and family that are far away. I can't bring myself to delete my account but I do avoid it for long periods of time.

I hope the weather warms up for all of us! :)

I really enjoyed this post, Betty. Of course, your friend and those who love him/her are in my prayers - you're right, God is in the details!

INSANE weather patterns this year, eh? We're already in the high 80's! Must remember to be thankful for what's given. (Like my complaining could actually change anything, right? LOL!)

Wishing you a great new week ahead!

I'm so sorry for your friend. I can't imagine that's an easy, or pleasant, decision to have to make.

I'm impressed that you have an A-Z theme AND so many posts written. I'm pretty sure I'm going to sign up, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hello from another Betty over at "Wisehearted".

I like this "Truth Is" blog will have to find out more about it. Enjoyed your truths and I will pray for your friend with cancer. I just lost a neice and sister in law to cancer. Nasty stuff. It's a whole other world for those who deal with it and also their family near them.
