Post Challenge Thoughts

Some final thoughts about A/Z challenge.

1.  Thank you all who commented on my posts faithfully and daily for some of you. So much appreciated.

2.  Thank you new people to my blog for reading it and some of you following it. So much appreciated.

3.  Thank you co-hosts who put on the challenge and their dedication and faithfulness to it. Very much appreciated.

4.  I learned there are a lot of blogs out there. Much more than one would ever have thought.

5.  I also learned there are a lot of writer blogs out there.

6.  The co-hosts had a great idea to keep posts short and simple. I found if I went to check out a blog and it was a long post, I tended to move on instead of reading it.

7.  I tried to keep my posts short. That was hard at times. I think I did pretty well on that most of the time.

8.  I tried to comment on at least 10 new blogs daily plus keep up with new people commenting on mine by visiting their blogs. Some I chose to follow, some I just left a comment with and wished them luck on the challenge. With my schedule, I knew realistically I could not keep up with every single blog I might have wanted to. I randomly selected the blogs I would check out daily. Interesting names of blogs get my attention. Since there were so many blogs participating, close to 2000, I would check out between numbers, like between 300-350, 475-525, that type of system on the list of them all.

9.  I wrote ahead at least 2-3 days of posts. I knew that was the only way to keep up with it all.

10. Will I do the challenge next year? Like I said before, the jury is still out. It was fun, but it was tiring at times.

Again, thank you all who participated in it and thank you all who commented on my blog!

Like I said before, you are all the best.

Sounds like you've figured out an efficient, fair plan to manage it. My hat's off to you for completing it. I don't think I could have done the same!

Shorter is better, that's why I'm doing some of my stories in parts.

I enjoy reading here but I'm not a new. I used to be 'Parsley'. ;-)

Short is definitely a challenge for me, but I've enjoyed it. I know that I am better able to absorb and enjoy short posts, but I get this fear that if I keep it short that I"m "cheating". . .

Thanks for stopping by my blog for the "aftermath" of the A-Z. Congrats to you for completing the challenge. Sounds like you found it a bit of a challenge to keep your posts shorter than usual, too, but hey! we did it!

I like short and to the point writing any day. Sometimes you/I can't keep something short, but I know that many people just move on if the post is too long.
I enjoyed reading your A-Z posts and hope you do it again next year. Enjoy your days off!!

Beautiful new bench header photo, looks so peaceful.Congrats on being a "Survivior!"

Didn't you mean to end post, "the bestest!"

You sound so much more organized than I am!

I think next year I'll try to write some of my posts ahead of time. Then again, I always have those kinds of good intentions... LOL

Very happy to have met you!

Woohoo girl, ya can take a good breathe and relax a bit. Congratulations on a job well done! It WAS quite the accomplishment for sure.

God bless ya sweetie and have a magnificent week!!! :O)

You need a week off... 26 x 10 (new) blogs to comment on is a ton of commenting!!!

(And I'm about 70 comments behind!)

One of the most fun parts of the Challenge was finding new blogs and trying to post on different ones. Replying to comments on my blog was also fun.

Definitely a challenge I would like to do again!

I agree with you..short posts are the best! I was also surprised how many writing blogs there are out there. I thought I had seen them all until I began this Challenge! It was great 'meeting' you and I'm happily following you!

You amaze me to be able to keep up with the number of Blogs you do. A-Z or not.

I have constantly tried to cut down on Blog entries because I know folks are busy and don't have a lot of time. My goal it to get down to about 200 words. I am now at around 400 down from an ignorant(for me) amount of 2000 words. To many folks that is a book!!!~~

Now that I know what your career is and you do such a wonderful job with our blog...you are my hero!
You are definitely one organized cookie! :) Love your gorgeous header!

That's a good system, I think. :)

And, you did a great job with your alphabet posts, I think!

Tracy said...

...good thoughts there!
I had to chuckle at how you chose the blogs-I too went random and read through names and ust clicked. That was fun! I trid to write ahead but well, didn't really happen!

It can be rough keeping up daily, the new reads are always fun.

Betty, I have to admire you for keeping up. I thought you did great! I wanted to join, but didn't want to undertake something I wouldn't be able to keep up on. Take a bow... or curtsie. And pat yourself on your back. GREAT JOB!

P.S. Another view already. Gorgeous, love it! Serene setting yet juxtapose to bustle of the big city.

You did a great job with the challenge Betty! So glad you decided to play along. Next year when it's challenge time you will forget those tiring times and remember the fun - and then you will probably do it again like I did and then wonder why you got yourself into it lol!

Congrats on finishing :)

I couldn't believe how many blogs were out there either. And how many on writing! Wow.

I would have loved to visit more blogs too. Didn't get to nearly as many as I liked. Just not nearly enough hours in the day!

Congrats on completing the challenge! I enjoyed your blog very much.

I often contemplate taking part in such challenges, but there's something about "having" to blog instead of choosing to blog that just goes against my grain. Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading your daily posts.

Thank you so much for your visit! I am enjoying your blog very much as I read through it this morning. I enjoy your pictures and your dog is so cute. Your schedule does sound very hard, having to go to work on most days. Hope you are enjoying your time off.

Congrats on finishing up the A-Z!

I think the "short" thing was a challenge for me. I wanted short posts for the challenge participants...but my regular readers missed my long posts. And then my new readers might miss short one-frame posts, which I won't really do outside of the challenge. It's a tricky balance! Congratulations on finishing!

J.L. Campbell said...

I'm glad it's finished, but it's interesting to participate and meet new people. The sheer numbers of participants could have been daunting if I'd stop to think about it a lot.

Jane said...

My hat is off to you...I barely have time to visit other blogs these days let alone write :) Well done!

TARYTERRE said...

Sounds like a GOOD plan. I try to comment everyday. But this month things are getting away from me. too much craziness here. LOL LOVE that NEW bench in the header. Take care.

Ruth said...

I don't know if I will do it next year either. I've done it this year and last on two blogs and that might be enough for me.
I know! Who thought there were so many blogs?

Sue H said...

I can agree with you that the numbers this year were overwhelming! I hope you recover from the exertions ASAP!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my reflections post - and I've added your page to my blog-list! ;-)

You changed your view....I like it!
Things like the meme's and the A-Z Challenge are a great way to meet new people. I see all you comments which means you are feeling a lot of blog love!

I'm not sure I'll do the A-Z next year either. Probably twice would be enough. The best part was finding other bloggers to whom I can relate. I've "met" some very sweet people! Writing can be very solitary work, so connecting in cyber-space is very nice!

Hi there - visiting you back - sorry I didn't find you during April! Am going to check out your posts now, kind of after the fact, but reading nonetheless ;-)

So glad we made it thru ;-)

All I can say is: WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO APRIL!
