Memorial Day

We had a wonderful last day with Flat Ruthie today.

I had to work, but the guys and Flat Ruthie

cooked up a fitting Memorial Day BBQ

cantaloupe, salad, grilled zucchini, grilled tomatoes, and hamburgers. (Mine was the plain one without cheese, son put Provolone on his, hubby put cheddar on his).

I am thankful there are people that give their lives for our freedom.  I personally have not known any one or their family that have lost a loved one or lost their live in battle.  Each and every person who serves in our military is a hero in my books and their family equally so.

I'm thankful that I have the best and perfect freedom in Jesus, no matter what country or situation I live in and that he died to free me from sins and I gained eternal life through him.

Flat Ruthie is heading to Omaha to spend some time with Mark and later this month with him and when his daughter comes to visit.

Anyone can host Flat Ruthie.  Here's the web site. I think it was a brilliant idea for the creator of Flat Ruthie to send her on travels all over the world.

Anyone remember when Martha hosted her virtual vacation and Koda went to spend two weeks with her in Florida three summers ago? That was quite an adventure, Koda still talks about it.

Well he would talk about it if he talked. Mainly we look at the vacation pictures and he kind of purrs.

Well actually he doesn't purr since he's a dog.....but you get my drift.

Thank all for your comments with this adventure of ours with Flat Ruthie.

Next post in a few days; update about son. Good update, prayers are always continually answered in God's perfect timing.

I hope however you spent Memorial Day it was a nice one and you gave thanks for those that sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Those hamburgers look great! It's not even 7 a.m., and I'm starving now. ;)

Omaha will be quite the change of scenery for Flat Ruthie. How fun!

Glad you had someone there to cook up a Memorial Day feast for you. It was hamburgers and hot dogs with macaroni salad for me. There were plenty of desserts too. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

Fond farewell dinner, looks delicious!

No place like home; can only imagine how tough it is on families during tours of duty.

"Freedom is not free" echoes at Memorial Day services. And Sundays, Jesus paid the price. Thanks to all!

That meal looks fantastic! Yummy! We haven't done burgers on the grill in a long time ... I think it's time to put an end to that "drought". ;-)

It'll certainly be a change of pace for Ruthie in Omaha! ;-)

Always love your entries. The burgers and grilled 'stuff' look great. Ah, glad you have an up-coming good-update. Love 'em, in this life we need to appreciate all the GOOD news we can get, the bad is spread (and felt) much faster.
Love you girl, now get back to work!!! LOL

I'm glad you mentioned the families of those who serve. They sacrifice so much too, they deserve our thanks as well.

Dinner looks yummy! I am thankful for those who have given their lives for us, their families who have to live without them and the men/woman who are currently serving and those who have served.
We had a nice weekend. Enjoyed reading about Flat Ruthie.

Too bad you had to work, but it looks like they made quite a feast. Adios to Flat Ruthie! Hope you're having a good week and decent weather. :)

Looks like you have had a busy week and weekend. We got home on Friday from 10 days in Arkansas. Flat Stanley came and stayed with us awhile a couple months ago. He was from Dardanelle AR. My cousin's grandson sent him. I talked to him the other night and he just went on and on about Flat Stanley and how great it was. We had fun with it.
until next time... nel

So glad you had fun with Flat Ruthie. Too bad our readers have changed so much that nobody seems to remember Koda's virtual vacation - but it's definitely some fun we will both always remember :)

Sorry I'm so late getting here, busy, busy times lately!

Your Memorial Day dinner looks yummy!

Many years ago we had Flat Stanley arrive from the USA and spend some time with my parents.

Obviously his family has expanded and grown :-)

Hubby and son did a yummy-looking job on the food. NO CHEESE??? Goodness, Betty! I love my cheese.

I had wondered about Flat Ruthie's origins. Now I will have to check out that blog.

So...does Koda know you are accusing him of purring? haha I'm going to tell him!
