Yum

Saturday night is Dingo night here. I think Koda knows it. I think he is that smart he counts down the days on the calendar in his brain and knows when seven days have passed and it is time for another Dingo.

Dingos are rawhide chew toys that he likes to chew on. We don't try to give him too many because he is a (bit) overweight, plus with his diabetes, but every now and then (weekly) we give him a bone to chew on.

Actually lately we should call Saturday "Dingo equivalent night" because we recently discovered Dingos are made in China and I've read several places not to give your dog anything made in China. I have to agree. We found lately when he was getting Dingos a few days later his tummy was a bit unsettled. Now with these new things (can't remember the name but they are made in the United States) he has no tummy issues.

Takes him about 20-30 minutes to consume one of the treats. When I give it to him, he always goes into the living room (yes we are still dealing with clutter) and plops down somewhere on the floor and chews away. He doesn't merge until he is done when he will go and get a big drink of water.

Saturday nights are YUM nights at our household.

Koda is so cute!

I give my dog Milkbones every night. Like Koda, she waits for them. It's funny how they know!

Have a great weekend!

Some treats are worth waiting for. I was wondering what you might come up with for your Y word. I read Marthas blog and read hers this morning too. Glad you switched the treats and found some American made. We heard of some terrible happenings with the foreign made treats here on our news station. Not worth taking the chance for sure. Hope your Saturday is a super one!

That Koda is too cute with his treat. I love his ears!

We had been giving our dogs the Waggin Train snacks...until we heard dogs were dying from them with organ lock-down situations. And they are made in China! Since 2007, there have been several FDA warnings against China made dog treats.

Our Abby would virtually devour her treats in one or two bites. I always worried about that. But once she was diagnosed with her IBS, we were forbidden to give her anything but her special kibble. No more treats. :-(

Now that is definitely a good Y. Yum! Koda is lucky and the way he is savoring that Dingo, he almost (I said almost...) makes me want one!

I'm glad you shared the info about the danger of the Chinese made dog treats. Koda is very cute with his Dingo-equivalent treat. Dodger always knows when it it time for the little bit of peanut butter he gets in a rubber bone every night.

You have to make the weekends special somehow and a yummy treat is definitely something everyone can look forward to, even Koda!

LOL! It looks like he is enjoying it. Glad y'all found out about where there made from and got a better brand. I think it's important to find the best quality food for your pets.

Ah yes...Dingos are a favorite chewy here. I have joked that they must have doggie drugs in them. LOL If you remember the name of his other chewies made in the USA let me know, please.

You know I have a diabetic dog too, right? Rosie. Well, I figured that these chewies are really high in protein so they must be a good choice for her.

I should have known you'd find a way to get in another Koda post :)

One more letter to go!

Koda is sooo cute! I have been checking our dog food and all treats to make sure I don't buy anything made in China! Sometimes I have a difficult time finding where it's manufactured so we just don't buy it. I hope everyone stops buying "made in China"!

Koda is a cutie! Our Nico gets those "leather" treats too and LOVES them too!

... I am glad that you found a treat that doesn't upset his tummy... and I would not doubt for a second that he doesn't know when it is "Dingo Day"!

Our little rat terrier, Lucy, loves her "treats" as well. Makes them feel so special. Oh, and I want to thank you so much for all the support you've given as I come back to blogging and jumped into this a-z thing. It means a lot! - Barbara

Oh, he is so cute chewing on his YUM! My non-Corgi dog loves to chew, but sometimes her tummy is sensitive. I didn't know about the China issue. Thanks for the info.

Once a week makes them more special! :):)

I could think of soooooo many things that are YUM! It would almost be sinful to list them all.
Excellent word for the letter "Y".

Ha! Chase loves his treats! He gets his favourite treat only on special occasions, when we're leaving him alone for the evening. He can't wait for us to go.

DINGOS and YUM. "Give that poor dog a bone." LOL Koda is one lucky dog, indeed. I might add, handsome too. ENJOY! Take care.

Just a heads up, I was giving our dogs rawhide chews and read they were terrible for them. Then Kona had the super pooper trots all over my living room and I blame the rawhide. They get peanut butter dog buscuits now. German shepherds have delicate digestive systems so I wouldn't worry!

Great photos and story. I like the idea of nitely stuff. And as you say Koda sure does.
I too, have started trying to avoid stuff from China, I look for made in the USA a lot. I think we as consumers are becoming more conscience of that. But I want to tell every manufacturer, if it is made in the USA print it BIG I hate looking for the very small print. LOL
Good read enjoy the visit.

Love this! :)

"Special treat" day is Monday or Tuesday here, depending on which day either the hubby goes shopping or I've ordered the shopping to arrive. In theory it's Monday, though sometimes something will happen to mean shopping doesn't happen until Tuesday. The dogs know that the shopping bags coming in the house means there'll be something for them; Kero especially. It started with me giving him something from the bag so he went away and left me in peace to put things away when he was a pup, and now he's almost 8 and it still happens. Willow's already figured it out, and she's only been here just under 3 months, LOL!

Yum, Koda -

You are looking as cute as ever. And wonderfully healthy!

In my opinion, there are few things cuter than little dog hands holding stuff. (I know technically they're paws - but I call them hands. The back ones are feet, right?!)

G'day, matey - Koda, enjoy Dingo Night!

GOD BLESS!
