Oh........

........if I had known that we were going to get a refund and that amount, I would have gotten the taxes done sooner. Actually, not really. I can't really even think about doing them until April. But they are done, filed in time, and thankful for the totally unexpected refund.

O is also for overtime at work. Like still on mandatory overtime of an hour a day and most days they are asking if people can work more than the mandatory extra hour. Some days I can, some days I can't based on what I have to get done. This will be the seventh week of it with no end in sight. They say they are looking to hire to fill the holes......we'll just have to wait and see how it plays itself out. Meanwhile, I didn't enjoy the phone call at 4 o'clock this morning from work stating the high backlog of work and asking everyone to start earlier if possible to try to get the work done. We're on a phone tree, so it was a recorded message, otherwise......not sure what I would have said if talking to a real life person......phones ringing early morning are always unsettling.

Enjoy your day!!!

Oh well! What a wonderful surprise! A refund is always nice. Just like a little savings account you didn't know about. Sorry that work load is putting a strain on you. Yes I know that early morning and late night phone calls are something none of like or want for sure. I used to put in some long 10 hour days, but I was always thankful for the much needed money in the paycheck. It came at a time I really needed it. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

That is very cool that you got a refund! I hope we do too, we haven't in years though.
Hate those scary early phone calls! Good that you have extra work, better than no work right?

The refund is a great surprise, unlike the 4 AM phone call. Not fun at all!

REFUND! What a pleasant surprise. Funny, isn't it, we get so happy when we are getting OUR money back. HA! You would think the government was sending us FREE MONEY. But we all feel that way.

Being deaf, the only time I know the early morning phone has rung is Sherry jumping out of bed and running to the phone. hahahahah

Love from this side.

Every year I vow to do my taxes early and every year I notice I'm signing the form somewhere around April 15th...enjoy the refund, and your day as well! 8-)

Yay on the refund!! We've been getting refunds for the last couple of years, so I've been getting into the habit of filling out our tax forms early ... so we can get the refund that much sooner.

I can't believe that anyone thought a 4 AM phone call was a smart thing! Overtime for that long a period of time can be very draining. I had a job where I had to work overtime for a couple of months every summer. At first, I enjoyed the extra money, but after a while I was ready for the OT to end.

I think the 4 a.m. phone call would only create a lot of tired workers for that day. I hope your work load slows down soon.
Congrats on getting a refund.

Taxes make me nervous - even when I KNOW were getting a refund. Don't know why that is.

I agree with you about middle of the night phone calls - I'm immediately terrified. My darling husband put MY cell phone # on our tax returns so that when they were accepted, I would receive the text. Unfortunately, KS accepted our return at 1:01 AM! ?? I jolted awake because I was sure it was one of the kids with bad news. Who else texts at that hour? Hubs heard about it in the morning! :)

A refund - and that quickly? My son-in-law has just got a refund for the year 2008/9! They're using it to come and visit me, which is wonderful.

I think your chefs should watch out that they don't work you too much, or else they'll lose more personnel from sick leave than they will help. I guess it's good for your paycheque tho.
Glad you're getting that refund! We had to pay so much this year...

With all the people who need jobs, there's really no excuse for forced overtime these days. They must have some other reason for not hiring, you think?

A phone call at 4am would totally freak me out!! There should be a law against work calling that early.

So glad you are getting money back this year. You can make plans on how to spend it while you're working overtime. ;)

4 AM phone calls from work? That's insane and bad management...

I hope you can take a BIG breath of fresh air and relax now that those pesky tax forms are filled in!

Sorry about the overtime you have to do, but YAY about the refund!

Oh... did you know, at least at our MN McDonald's, it was "tax relief day!" Ordered burger and small fry and surprised the fry was free today! OT=good, mandatory OT-not so good. Hope you get those re-enforcements soon. When our daughter was born around 4 am we waited over an hour before calling our parents. Enjoy your refund and 364 days till next one!

Well you might not mind the overtime so much once you get your check.

We got a refund this year too ::cheers:: but I also waited to get them done. Glad you got yours done in time.

I would be livid over an early morning call like that, it's almost always bad news.

I guess you should just look at the bright side and be thankful for the overtime, but don't let them overwork you too much!

It's always a relief to me to not have to write a check to the powers that be. If the phone rang here at 4am I would flip out--who died, crashed, needs a ride home from the jail,,, that's what I'd be thinking

I agree with you Betty... when I hear the phone after 11pm and before 7am I assume that something is wrong.

Hey, good for you! A refund. Yay!!!

Yay! I'm glad you got them done and glad you got that refund! Lol! I'll come work for them, still looking for a job. : )

LUCKY! LUCKY! Congrats on the REFUND. Don't spend it all in one place. LOL Our phone seldom rings, so when it does you know something is wrong. hope work lets up soon. take care.

I agree, any phone in the middle of the night is upsetting. My daughter called me once in the middle of the night (when they didn't live with us) crying and you know my heart stopped. Well they stay up late and her husband colored her hair and it turned out some weird color!!! Thank you so much for waking me up. I guess it is a good thing that there is plenty of work to do but it must really drain you.
