6WS, better luck next time??

Linking up Cate for Six-Word Saturday; describing something going on in my life in six words. Here's mine for this week:

I thought I had winning numbers.

But I didn't.......

California's Mega Millions was worth $290 million dollars last night. We rarely buy lottery tickets but when it gets up that high we sometimes "throw" some money in and play the "what if" game of what we would do if we won it.

But we didn't, so I guess I'll keep my "day job" (of which I am very grateful I do have a job).

Next drawing is Tuesday and I just checked; it is worth $356 million.....

I saw a story about people buying tickets on the news last night. Lots of activity at the stores that sell tickets yesterday, lines out the door, etc. (We bought our tickets Thursday). We spent $20. There were people spending hundreds of dollars (maybe they went in with friends?) One lady bought 111 tickets because that was her favorite number (too cute).

Anyway, expect to see me here Wednesday morning, still not a lottery winner, but I'm sure we will buy a ticket or two again next week :)

I may just have to get one of those tickets myself. I think chances of winning as as good with one ticket as there might be in buying more. The odds are against us but it is fun trying! Better yet I could buy some tickets and give them away. Someone else might have a better chance than I. Hope your Saturday is a SUPER one. You might not have won the lottery, but the treasures you have are worth more anyway.

I rarely play the lottery---- but you are right... better luck next time....

It is very nice to see you up and about.... I've missed you

Somebody is going to win and it might as well be you....keep trying.
Doc buys 5 Lotto tickets every week. Sometimes he wins $3 for the $5 he invested so he needs a big win to get out of the red.

I like the idea of reading the 6WS post above yours on the list, it's fun to see what some new folks have to say! I liked your post a lot, we all like to play "what if" and how we would manage all that money, and of course the reality is that most of us will live to work another day! Fun post, good luck on Tuesday, we know somebody has to win!

We get a ticket, now and then. Never even get close! :-)

I have long been an advocate of limiting these Mega lottery winnings to a more reasonable amount. Nobody really needs 350 million, and most folks aren't really going to do much good with it either. If we limited winnings to, say, 5 or 10 million & just kept drawing numbers until all the money was gone, we'd be spreaqding the wealth further & increasing the likelihood of some of that cash making its way into the general economy.
After all, what's more desirable: one person with 350 million dollars or 70 people with 5 million each?
I guess this old hippie is still dreaming, eh?

OK. I'm stepping off my soapbox. Sorry. Didn't mean to huighjack your comments thread.

Someone on Facebook posted the question of what we would do if we won that much money.

My reply was "faint"

Can't win if you don't play.

I always say I need to win the lottery, but then I very rarely play. Well duh, I can't win if I don't play! Good luck for Wednesdays drawing! :)

I wouldn't do much different to what I'm doing now if i won the lottery, except that I'd buy a house.

We play each week. I don't even know what numbers my husband plays!
He did win $11,000. once and we were thankful the woman at the counter was super nice. He had taken the ticket and let the machine check it out. Some people have been cheated out of their money by shady people.
GOOD LUCK!

someone has to win. we do buy a few tickets every week. it's our only habit. :) I always tell our furbabies that one of the things we will do when we win is help other furbabies and of course help people. good luck!

Well, not everyone wins everytime, so maybe, just by some great big chance...you will win next time! You just won't know unless you play, right?!

we buy a ticket now and again- and my husband will look at the numbers and say-nope-not winning nmbers....relly? How does he know?

My six words?

No lottery - I never win anything.

However, if you want to go 50/50 on a ticket for the $356 million, I might be persuaded...

GOD BLESS!

While I can't seem to shake the habit of smoking, gambling is definitely not a problem. I buy only one kind, in memory of an uncle who was addicted, but I don't buy it all of the times. If the amount appeals to me, if I even think of it, if there's no line, if I have loose money in the wallet. I wouldn't pull the ATM card for this.
As you can guess, I don't buy them all that often...
Good luck to you!!

Hopefully the collected "take" by the state helps people that really need it.

My luck with lotteries usually runs the same. Here's hoping this week will be different for you! Don't forget all your blogging friends when you're rich and famous.

We spent 2.5 hrs at state line today buying our tickets...

have you been having problems uploading photos to your blog? I have been trying for the past two hours and am calling it a night and hitting the sack....

I like to play, too...we have to go to Tennessee because that ole sinful gambling isn't allowed in Alabama. Ha

We never win the big stuff, either, but we do win a little sometimes playing the scratch offs. I count myself lucky when I come out with just about as much as I carried in. Key words *just about* because I usually end up losing a few bucks...but those times when I win a few...well, they give those tickets out to keep me coming back!

I read about the Mega Million jackpot yesterday. I think it's now over $400 million! I'm buying a ticket or two this week for sure!

I am so upset with blog. It never shows me when you make a post!!!!

I'm pretty sure I won't win the mega bucks. There seems to be a little rule that you have to actually buy a ticket to have a chance to win. So unfair!!!! ;)

Good luck!!!!
